and performed by
Matéo Troianovski and Fanny Le Pironnec“It’s a story of bodies, of questioning, of mutual search towards an ideal of relationship, if it can exist at all.
Evolving within an increasingly digitised society, where relationships are often consumed as ephemeral goods, how can we return to simplicity, to what can truly connect two souls, two bodies, two individuals lost in the tumult of new social norms?”
Clothes as prizes. Ripping lions apart and riddle based threats of violence.
An exploration of Sampson from the bible.
A work in progress piece by Barnaby Simmons.
Barnaby Simmons graduated from MA Theatre Lab at RADA in 2023 and is interested in the epic that can be found in the everyday and the sacred that can be found in the domestic.
This production loosely draws from the folklore stories of the Jewish 'city of fools’, as a celebration and critique of masculinity within Jewish culture and religion. Through drag, Yaya As The Wise Men of Helm embodies the complex… and not-so-complex men seen in today’s Jewish society.
YaYa As... will be bringing two of their characters to The Coronet.
'A cacophony of lives ruled by volume. Layers of conversations that nearly lead us to something.'
Created by Eleanor Cobb, Ellie Iley, Ludovica Tagariello, Marilou Tamvaki and Jake Walton.
Performed by El, Marilou and Jake.
Adaptation Context:
Dominic John & Ramel Bailey are on-the-run when they encounter a strange man in the forest. This particular scene was removed from Molière's original play, shortly after the première, and eventually got the play cancelled in 1660s France. I have decided to put in back in as I work towards my modern English language adaptation.
It’s dangerous out in the open grassland. Just you. Better in the dark forest. Or lost in the crowd. The collective transcends, after all. Transcends status, transcends sex, transcends self.
Deer Life is a new piece about the cycle of life in a herd. It’s about the animals in it- strong,- hooved, antlered, powerful, delicate. Of the earth and of the air. It’s about them. And about us.
Deer Life is inspired by many stories: Felix Salten’s shocking Bambi; Deer Man,: Seven years of Living in the Forest, by Geoffroy Deelorme; The Buck, by Sr Johanna Caton; Helen MacDonald’s ‘Deer in the Headlights’.
“Salten believed that all humans should become more like animals. If they did they would paradoxically become truly humane and violent acts would gradually diminish” . Jack Zipes from the prologue to his translation of Salten’s Bambi: a Life in the Forest.
This Deer research has been supported by 101 Outdoor Arts and RADA as well as The Coronet Theatre and Omnibus Theatre.
Actors involved: Dylan Aiello, Stefanie Bruckner, Arianna Calgaro, Eleanor Cobb, Isobel Collyer, Ellie Cooper, Timothy Dodd, Bartel Jespers, Fanny Le Pironnec, Valeria Poholsha, Barnaby Simmons, Jake Walton, Catherine Abigail Ward

“For me, the artist is at the heart of the programme, and I work closely with the makers of the pieces I bring to London, sometimes watching and encouraging them for years. In this increasingly fractious world, I feel strongly that one of the greatest uniting forces is the international language of and desire of all of us to engage with art, whether as a maker or spectator.
My goal is to fill the theatre spaces – the Main House, Print Room Studio, and bar – with diverse and wonderful arts from across the world, celebrating all its many forms and the audiences who enjoy them”
