NCAA Volleyball preseason rankings versus reality Ava Flores

New Donut Shop

Bringing a small-town feel and fresh flavors Ansleigh Hester Contributing Writer Milledgeville Donuts and Coffee, a new donut shop that opened in late August located on North Columbia Street, has a GCSU professor and local Milledgeville residents raving about the donuts and breakfast sandwiches offered. Professor Douglas Bassett, assistant director of Bridge Scholars, thoroughly enjoyed trying the newly opened donut shop and attests that it would be a great breakfast place for GCSU students, but it could be a place

that anyone could love. “I do think that it’s like a good place to go and get breakfast,” Bassett said. “If you want donuts and coffee, then I think that it doesn’t just target college kids, it targets everyone. I think that they’re open early, so it’s definitely good for people that want to go early and get d o n u t s . ” Bassett had wonderful interactions with the employees. “I thought that the people that worked there and the owner was nice,” Bassett said. “I also liked their as-

sortment of donuts.” While Milledgeville Donuts and Coffee has an excellent food selection up to par with Bassett’s tastes, he feels that the shop might need to add more seating to draw in more college students. “I don’t know if it has a lot of seating options for activities like going and hanging out, but that might change with time,” Bassett said. He could see the distance the business is from the college being an issue because many students might not want to walk that far for a donut. See DONUT SHOP | Page 8
