Santa arrives in time to lead street parade
A crisis was averted on Friday night thanks to some great driving by Mrs Claus who helped to deliver Santa just in time to lead this year’s Christmas Street Parade. There may have been less parade entrants this year than previous years, however it was the noisiest parade in history with the local emergency service vehicles testing out the horns on their vehicles, much to the delight of parade spectators young and old. While a number of changes were made this year to ensure the parade and gala shopping night were run as a COVID Safe event, from all reports it was still a successful night with a big crowd attending, the food stalls sold out, shop owners reported a good night of trading and the market stalls were also kept busy all night. See more photos from the night on Page 4.
