Face masks are ditched

From today Cobar residents can ditch wearing face masks, QR code checking-in and showing proof of vaccination in most situations as the NSW Government eases its COVID-19 restrictions around the state. With NSW having almost reached the 95 per cent double dose vaccination target (94.8 per cent as of yesterday), the Government has done away with a large number of previously imposed restrictions. The relaxation of the rules applies to all people in NSW, regardless of their vaccination status. Masks will only be required on public transport and planes, at airports, and for indoors front-of-house hospitality staff who are not fully vaccinated (previously all indoors front-of-house hospitality staff regardless of vaccination status were required to wear masks). Masks will still be strongly encouraged in settings where you cannot social distance. Density limits will no longer apply at public places including restaurants, gyms, hairdressers, nail salons, beauty and massage centres where previously it was one person per 2sqm. There is no limit to the number of visitors you can have in your home and no limit on the number of people you can have at outdoor public gatherings. Visitors to residents in aged care facilities and disability homes will be required to comply with their individual policies. From today COVID safety plans will be optional for businesses and will be supported by SafeWork NSW. Continued Page 2.
