CBA cuts their opening hours The Commonwealth Bank will reduce its Cobar branch’s opening hours from next month with customers only able to access face-to-face banking for three and a half hours a day. The Commonwealth Bank of Australia (CBA) announced last week that branches in 90 regional locations, including Cobar, would be affected by the change in opening hours. CBA’s Executive General Manager Customer Service Network, Mark Jones, said the changes will help secure services and employment in regional areas. The regional branches will continue serving local customers in the branch during the mornings and will close in the afternoon to assist CBA’s Australian-based contact centres, which are receiving more than a million customer enquiries each month. “Our branches in regional Australia will continue to play an important role in delivering great service to our customers now and into the future, and this is an example of how we are adapting to meet changing customers’ evolving needs while ensuring jobs stay in regional communities,” Mr Jones said. “We’re expanding our Australian-based contact centre network from five dedicated locations to over 90 communities across the country, while keeping a physical banking presence in regional communities.” Mr Jones said all of the affected communities already have 24/7 access to CBA ATMs. “We understand these changes may be an adjustment for some of our customers, and the team at their local branch will continue to be available to help them find the solutions that best suit their needs,” Mr Jones said.

Praise for Aged Care workers
The Lilliane Brady Village staff were treated to a delicious afternoon tea on Friday in acknowledgement of Aged Care Employee Day 2021. An initiative of Leading Age Services Australia, the annual day recognises each and every team member involved in caring for the 13 million older Australians receiving home care or residential care services. This included nurses, care workers, allied health professionals, hospitality teams, drivers, cleaners, volunteers, activities coordinators, administration staff and many, many others. LBV director of nursing, Helen Spyt said she values and appreciates the contributions of each member of the LBV team. ▪ Photo contributed
