Grand opening for unique Sound Chapel Pg 3

Sound Chapel sunset serenade An estimated crowd of 170 locals and visitors gathered to be serenaded with classical music as the sun set at the official opening of Cobar’s unique Sound Chapel on Saturday. The idea of creating a unique sound installation artwork in Cobar has been 10 years in the making for its creator, composer and sound artist Georges Lentz, who collaborated with award winning architect Glenn Murcutt to bring the dream to life. Pictured at the opening are: Top right, locals Shae Martin, Sue Harpley and Marie Lawrence; middle The Noise String Quartet performing; and bottom, Sydney visitors artist Rod Holdaway, Jennie McLean and composer Alan Holley. ▪ Main crowd photo courtesy of Klae McGuinness Photography
