Stars come out for Pop Up Piano launch

A crowd of locals and visitors (along with two ABC reporters) were treated to a free piano concert in the main street on Sunday when music streamed out of the Library arcade as part of Cobar’s Pop Up Piano official launch. The Cobar community recently took delivery of a free piano as part of the ABC’s Pop Up Piano initiative which aims to bring music to public spaces. Pictured above is Librarian Jane Siremans, who welcomed the crowd, along with some of the local piano performers Tony Mitchell, Judy Toomey, Cathy Francisco and Ness Cavalot. Above right is another performer Isabelle Degn (with Judy Toomey); at middle is young pianist Tim McClure; and below is Judy accompanied by the local Seniors Singing Group. See Page 2 for more information about the event.
