Drugged up Careers advice from experts drivers get pulled over In the space of three days, police arrested two local drivers who were found to be driving under the influence of prohibited drugs. About 4.40pm on Friday police stopped a motor vehicle in Marshall Street for the purpose of random testing. The 58 year old female driver underwent a roadside drug test which gave a positive indication to a prohibited drug. She was arrested and conveyed to Cobar Police Station where she underwent a secondary drug test. Police are awaiting the results of the test prior to taking further action. Police arrested a 35 year old local man on Sunday after he was found to be driving under the influence of drugs and also gave him a cannabis caution. About 1.45pm on Sunday police stopped a motor vehicle in Matthew Street for the purpose of random testing. The 35 year old male driver underwent a roadside drug test which gave a positive indication to a prohibited drug. He was arrested and conveyed to Cobar Police Station where he underwent a secondary drug test. Police are awaiting the results of his test prior to taking further action. A small amount of cannabis was also located in his possession. The man was issued with a Cannabis Caution Notice.
Cobar High School held a Careers Expo at the school last Wednesday with 30 different exhibitors/employers on hand to discuss all things careers with local students. Careers Advisor Megan Nicholson said she was very happy with the support and efforts of exhibitors who took time out from their businesses to prepare a great variety of different activities for students to engage in.
