Dear Currituck County Schools Family, As we head into Winter Break, I wish everyone the happiest holidays. It is a time to rest, restore, and to be thankful for our blessings. This time of year also naturally lends itself to reflection, and as I reflect on the school year thus far, I am filled with immense gratitude and pride.
Under the guidance of our District Strategic Plan, we are ambitiously moving forward. Our staff is learning and growing together for the betterment of our Currituck County schools and, ultimately, the success of our students. Our commitment to fully implementing our plan is evident in the hard work and dedication occurring all throughout the district. We are stronger together for embracing our strengths, implementing new expectations, and accepting difficult changes. I am confident in our plan and inspired by the leadership occurring throughout our district to make our plan a reality. We are truly ten schools with one mission.
I extend my heartfelt thanks to our families and community for your continued trust and support. Thank you to all Currituck County Schools’ staff for your daily commitment to putting our students first. I sincerely applaud our students for their perseverance, honoring their potential, and striving for the best version of themselves.

We shake mom and dad, hearing them moan and groan “Go back to bed,” mom always says.
“But it’s Christmas mom; it’s time to open the presents,”
As a child the feeling of Christmas morning is like no other I shall say But you also have to remember it’s the start of new beginnings
The past is about to be the past and new tidings begin.
It’s like walking to a Christmas tree farm to pick out the perfect one. All the Noble Fir trees surround you like a tidal wave.
The frosty tips of the tree make them look a little more glassy and full To coming home to a warm lit candle that smells like gingerbread Rising in the oven sweet but tart at the same time like the newborn child. But we all know the true meaning of Christmas.
The Christ the Lord will always be with us in our hearts: Advent, angels, Bethlehem, God’s holy son, and happiness.
Yet as a child it’s all about the happiness you get when you wake up that morning, A bright new beginning to birth and many other things. Let this be one thing known to you: Christmas can be whatever you want it to be Let your imagination thrive when it comes to this lovely December month.
New beginnings will happen and it will be a new start for the future and an ending to the past.
