I loved that I now feel like I can give myself permission to bring that playfulness and that taking the piss into my sessions because I always ----It’s freeing.

It’s really freeing because I’ve always, I could feel myself in the sessions being so you know concentrating and like serious.

Because you’ve got to learn to do it in a way that I was doing it. I’m doing it with the client. So some of you might have been sitting there thinking, I don’t know if that will work for me but I wouldn’t be there with you, it’d be your way of taking the piss with you.

Mmm. Because I’ve worked it out a couple of times and I know how far we can go, we’re finding out, so it’s all good, he knows he can trust me.

Mmm. But for someone else I’d be some other way, I’m not just taking this version of me to everybody I meet.

So let’s talk about that. So if you’re going to spend five days with me and you really think at this point after seeing what you’re seeing that I’m not going to take the piss, or that we’re going to be serious about it and then somehow you hiding is going get you through the five days, can I say your standard is completely crap.

Mmm-hmm.

That is the same as saying, I’ll turn up, watch TV, called Sharon Pearson for five days, pay a fortune for it by the way, and go home and nothing would have changed. So when I ask you, “Is there something you loved about the session?” and there is, what do you do?

Put your hand up.

Is there something you loved about that session? Who has something they loved?

But why wouldn’t you be able to talk to me? Why wouldn’t you be loud and proud?

What is the big deal? You’re not fucking one, you’re adults. No really. I’m going to have a rant. Well seriously. It’s a big deal to put your hand up on that question?

Getting asked a basic question, “Is there something you loved?” Oh my God. What if I get judged? God. [Audience laughing] That’s your benchmark of overwhelm. Really. Don’t fucking coach. Do not go near paying clients. You have no business working with another human being if your

overwhelm level is me asking you the question, brace yourselves, “I there something you loved about the last session?”

Yes. If that’s your overwhelm, fuck off coaching. Seriously. Go work with computers, make some shoes, don’t work with people. Count matchsticks. Something. But do not work with people if your overwhelm level is so, your standards is so low that the question, “Hands up if there’s something you loved about the session?” caused you to feel, “I wouldn’t want to be judged.” Really? Can I challenge that? And just say, “That’s a habit.” Can I? Yes. It’s just a fucking habit. We get told as adults we’ve got to fit in and we’ve got to be the status quo. You’re here to be a Meta Coach. If you think you can hide in my room please see Diego, get a refund and get out of my room. I’m here to get you to rock. I’m here to get you great at this thing called Making a Difference. And you hide on the question, “Is there something you loved?” Where the fuck do I go from there? Tell me. Where do I go on Day 5 when I’ve got to help you change people with hypnosis and a whole bunch of shit and you’re sitting there worried about putting your hand up? Are you feeling me?

Well his eye patterns took him there, well actually I did, didn’t I? I directed you completely, I said, “What would happen if it was over here?” But AD people don’t tend to see visually very strongly because they’ve over-relied on thinking their way through things, it’s why they’re slow at a process change.

Yep. That’s not true, that’s why they’re slower to realise that process of change has occurred.

Mmm. That was a much better pre-sup. What did you love?

I loved that you showed us to have full support for the clients, so be the lioness for them.

So I think with my clients I hadn’t always been fully there for them but just ----Yeah, because you’re worried about not being liked.

Now how does it feel participating and knowing a sense of anticipation is your responsibility? How does it now feel?

Yeah.

Fantastic.

It feels fantastic. Tell me how it feels to you now I’ve got you all in? Like you know I could call on you. How does that feel compared to the passivity of observation?

Yeah?

You become a part of it.

Yes. Of the people around you.

I just had a thought, it’s less stressful because I could sense I was stressing about having to hide. [laughing] Its golden, I love that, I was stressing about having to hide. I - that is gold. And now you don’t have to worry about that.

I want you to turn up and play with me that it matters that you play, I want you to turn up that it matters you participate, turn up that your view matters. You matter.

Now it’s a wonderful segway and you’ll see in a moment how cool it is and hilarious.

[Audience laughing] It’s actually not, I set it up very proudly, but, which is kind of – anyway, I want to talk about the Critical Alignment Model, ESIP, which I know a lot of you fall in love with.

Who’s familiar with at least the ESIP Critical Alignment Model? Show of hands. Heard of it? Great. When I began this training many years ago nobody had heard of it.

And every time I spoke about it, I was speaking about it to everybody for the very first time so to have you all familiar with it and some of you loving it and using it is fantastic. Now Critical Alignment is a way better name than ESIP. Would you agree?

Yes. We’re going to use Critical Alignment for now because it sounds way cooler and more expensive, wouldn’t you agree?

[Audience laughing] So let’s have a look at what’s contained within this Model. So in Environment some of you will know what is contained within Environment when I created this, what did I mean by this?

Purpose.

The purpose. What else did I mean? There’s a list.

Values.

It could be your values.

Beliefs.

Beliefs.

Attitude.

Attitude.

Mission.

What was that?

Mission.

It’s your mission. I’m trying to do it on a hierarchy. Yep. Culture.

Your goals. I’m actually going to do it that way because I think all of these could be goals or standards. Yeah?

Your vision.

Your vision. I’m running out of room on that level. Yep. Culture.

Culture. What else?

Emotional aptitude.

Emotional aptitude.

Standards.

Validity.

So emotional aptitude is, a demonstration was just done when I went off at you guys for not playing full out, you agreed in the first session you would but some of you didn’t have the emotional aptitude, you didn’t have the standard to keep that going for two sessions, so I was here to tweak, hang on we agreed to that, I can’t trust you if you don’t keep that promise. Yes? Yes. Try it on as a client. If you said to a client “Well we’re going to do that”, in the second session you don’t do that, how should the client feel about you?

Let down.

Let down. Do you think they’re going to be as open with you if you have once declared a standard and then do a different standard?

No. No. But if you hold it, but if you declare a standard, hold a standard and you’re consistent with a standard, how could they feel about you?

Safe.

Rock solid.

Safe and rock solid and open. So emotional aptitude is, its resilience, its grip, its turning up for the big game every day, it’s good to go, “Things don’t have to be perfect for me to feel completely safe before I’ll do anything, I’ll just get in,” it’s that.

Now along with that, and I think really crucially, are standards and expectations.

Standards are the standards we have for ourselves and expectations are the expectations we have for others. All of this is concerned with what’s going on between our ears. All of this is made up, it’s all decided by ourselves for ourselves.

The most valuable there, and I know I should say the top ones, I agree with standards. Tell me your goals, you’ve shown me your bullshit, show me your standards, you show me your future.

Mmm. The goals are what we often write to feel good about ourselves because there’s a whole bunch of science around this, we can foresee a better self tomorrow or later as a way of relieving, not being a better self now.

Yep. Because I’m giving you the key to the city when it comes to coaching clients.

Yes. So your client will have all these amazing goals and we all do it as well because the science shows we can create, “Oh I’ll do it then,” so there’s procrastination strategy I’ve heard of, I hear a couple of people outside this training do that, they procrastinate, and this is how they let themselves off the hook. And this isn’t interesting to any of you, you don’t do it but you may come across a client who procrastinates and what they’re doing is, they’re saying, “Well I don’t have to do it now, I’ll feel better about it tomorrow.”

Mmm. Here’s the science - we never do.

Mmm.

Yeah.

We feel worse.

Yeah.

So if you’ve ever done that to yourself, said, “Well, I’m not going to do it today, I’ll do it tomorrow because I’ll be ready to do it tomorrow,” not true, there is no science that supports - and they have done major science on it now that says, “We’ll feel better about it tomorrow.” We don’t. Isn’t this interesting?

Yeah.

So for us to have standards around this, this is my standard around procrastination, if I’m procrastinating, I’m declaring, “I’m never going to do it.”

Mmm. Wow. Yeah.

And then I’ve got to live with – well is that the truth?

Mmm. And then I know the science behind it because I’ve read some of the research and a lot of it was tedious doctor talk but anyway, basic outcome is, “I’m never going to feel any better about doing this activity, I’m either going to be enough now to do it or I’m never going to do it.” Isn’t that interesting?

Yeah.

So what changes now when you’re with a client or you’re with yourself and there’s something in the past you’re procrastinated about, what could change potentially?

Now you know the truth you’re never going to feel like doing it.

Just do it.

Just do it anyway.

Just do it.

Talk to me.

Just do it.

It is just do it. Or it’s, “I’m never going to do it, I’m never going to be the person who’s going to do it.” And that is where it gets painful.

Yep. And I’ll talk about what that is in a tick. Are you guys into this, is this ----Yeah.

I’m so geeking out on this conversation. Like, I live for this. I just love it, I hope you guys love it too.

Because that’s what I’m going to talk about. Anyway, so our standards are what we expect of ourselves. And I have a few rules around standards that I want to share with you and then we’re going to get into a whole NLP Model of Communication.

One of my standards is if I make a promise to myself I have to keep it.

Mmm. Most people do not. Never, ever look at my results as a coach or in this industry and think, wow, I want what she’s got. If you want what I’ve got you’ll have my standards. When you make a promise to yourself quietly and privately whispered in your mind, you keep it.

So I think personal standards as opposed to business standards or are they ----Both yeah, they’re both. So boringly I have a personal promise to myself that I have to pick up my dog’s dog shit wherever I am, no matter what, even if no one’s watching, so I do and I carry it for miles in the bush, like 12 Ks, bang it against my thigh because it’s tied around my leg, keeping my fucking promises. Nobody’s looking, who would know, but that’s how I live. That’s a really small example of, it sucks to be me. But it’s kind of working because how do I feel once I’ve kept the promise?

Yeah.

[Audience inaudible] I might be feeling something like self-love. What the fuck?

Stop it.

And it also builds up your self-trust.

Yes. Well self-trust leads to self-worth which leads to self-love. So I keep - if I make a promise I’m really going to do that, I have to do then guess what?

Do that. I have to keep the promise. So I’m on guard of the bullshit I tell myself that placates me into being okay about doing fuck all. I can’t let myself off the hook with that. Are you guys following this?

Yeah.

Yeah, that, “Oh, no, no, it’ll be okay, you’ll do it later”, no, we’re in a procrastination study, no you won’t, you won’t feel any better about it later, so what you’re really saying is, “I’m forgiving myself for not I’m doing it now, I’m not going to raise my standards about it now and this is how I’m going to keep myself exactly where I am.”

Do not tell me your goals, tell me your standards. Never tell me your goals, tell me your standards. You show me your standards, your habits, your rituals, your disciplines, I will see your future.

Nice.

You show me your goals, you show me your bullshit. Yeah?

How close are your standards then tied to your values because I ----Yeah it’s a great question.

The standards, I’ve set certain standards versus the values of.

Yeah values aren’t enough for me, like I have standards around certain rituals that the value’s a bit vague so value around health and vitality but within that I have standards, I have to go to the gym three times a week, I have to, you know there’s a list of rituals I must do for me to be fulfilling the rules I have to live the value of health and vitality, so break it down into activities that I must do. Does that help?

Yeah.

Yeah.

So how do you keep in alignment with I guess, with those promises you make to yourself?

How do I keep in alignment?

Yeah, I guess you were saying before that you need to be aware of I guess when you’re making promises to yourself, so you know sometimes you can sort of say, maybe not you, but in terms of ----I don’t know what you were going to say.

Oh like exercises are great, most people can relate to that but yep, okay, I’m going to do XYZ three times a week.

How do I keep in alignment? I just do that.

Yeah. Sorry.

You don’t need to apologise but if I create that standard I do that.

Yeah.

Or I reassess and change the standard.

Yeah.

And I just declare myself, that’s not working for me, that standard is getting in the way of my other things I value and I adjust.

Yeah.

They’re not rigid, they’re created to create a great life, I’m not doing it to punish myself, I actually really want these standards because I love a great result.

Yeah.

So I’m going to get really commercially blunt with some of you. Are we going to keep talking about money?

Yes No. Yeah, I didn’t get complete yeses there, did I? Lyn and I will go and talk about it.

Yes. So I made a commitment. Huh? If you can’t talk about it you can’t have it.

Well said. That sounds like a really cool thing someone should have said.

[Audience laughter] So my attitude was when I came into this business, “Okay, you can swan around and have a go and dabble like you have with everything else Sharon or you’re actually going to give it a red hot go and create something.” I always saw how hard everyone was working with the hours they declared they were doing in this industry, “I’m trying really hard, I’m working so many pro bonos,” I thought well if that’s what the majority are doing I have to create standards that are something else. So my standards in business around wealth creation, which I’m very good at, I created based on what the majority of people are doing as standard, so whatever they’re doing, I don’t do that. I just don’t. Whatever the majority is doing, because the majority do not experience wealth, I don’t do those standards ever. It makes it very simple. I call it the Zig Zag Principle. So while the world is zigging mediocrely earning $75,000, around that is the average income, I’m doing something else because whatever they did was a strategy, it was a Tote and inevitably had to get that outcome, didn’t it?

Yes. It had to get that outcome, it couldn’t have got anything else.

No. So I can never run that Tote. Ever. And that’s how I created my standard. I said, “Well what’s the majority of coaches doing and I’ll never do that.” So I just don’t. So a lot of coaches talk a lot to each other. I don’t. You’ve gone really quiet, I’m a little nervous and uncomfortable right now, I know you’re taking it in but there’s a way of listening to someone, you kind of nod or you fart in my direction, just something.

[Audience laughing] Keep talking.

Yeah but I’m feeling like I’ve gone too far and you’re not with me.

No. Because I don’t ever do you know the step thing we talked about. Yeah. Yep? I guess what we all want to know is, why don’t you talk to the other coaches?

And who talks to them?

Well it’s not that I never talk, it’s just, that’s not my version of a great standard in coaching. That to me is called entertainment socialising, but it has nothing to do with wealth creation.

No, to be wealthy and to be around wealthy people to understand how they ----Yeah, not other coaches dude.

No. I’m around millionaires and billionaires, there aren’t many of those in coaching, I hang around the people who’ve done it in different industries and a lot of people want to hang out as they should, with me.

So we need to go for a drink with you.

Yeah.

I don’t socialise, I do business, I mentor, I work, I’m here to help you succeed, I’m not here to socialise, that’s what my friends are for. Different Tote.

So when you say ----No, no, listen - different Tote.

Anyway, so first standard is, what are the promises you make and do you keep them? The second standard is, facing the science, the procrastination, you’re not going to do it later, face you are not going to do it, or do it. Great standards.

Another standard is, hang out with people who are moving forward and expect you to.

Yeah. Right.

I just don’t hang out with people who are comfortable with me staying the same.

I’m in business to do well. I’m in business to create wealth. I’m in business to create my epic future for me and my family, both my parents are separated, had to buy them both houses, didn’t have to, was able to because of those decisions. Is that not the most wonderful thing?

Yeah.

They’re both living in million dollar homes because of my standards.

Yeah.

What a way to give back.

Yep. Because right now they’d both be living in rental apartments, oh my God, they are so bad with money, fuck. It is just unbelievable to watch like really, I lend my dad 20K and he gives it to a friend, it’s just - I don’t mind, I give money I’m prepared to give, it’s not the point but that’s his map.
