They feel agitated because it’s a new year so they feel the need to make something happen. If you’ve been building a relationship with them and you are their trusted adviser, now more than ever, it’s time to offer them the opportunity to work with you. It’s time for you to give them the opportunity to redeem themselves from what they didn’t do.

MEMBER’S QUESTION QUESTION: IF YOU HAD TO DO IT OVER AGAIN, WHAT WOULD YOU DO DIFFERENTLY?

ANSWER: Oh wow I find those questions a challenge! Firstly, I’m not that great at looking back with regret. I figure I will win some, I will lose some, I will not always know what I was meant to learn and I won’t always know what something means, or why it happened or any other self-indulgentneed-to-give-everything-significancedriven-it’s-all-about-me-crap. I would probably, looking back, have learned leadership a lot sooner and taken it a lot more seriously than I did for the first few years. I would probably have got into developing models of business that don’t

rely on me sooner, such as the Executive Coaching Academy. What is happening now for my business is a reflection of these decisions and nondecisions, so I guess I could have got here sooner, but really, so what? There is nothing in my business I can’t assist with, improve, do myself, or get someone to rock at, so really, there’s nothing I would probably do different, because if I’d known better then, I would have done better then. But I didn’t. So I didn’t.

Jane Ben!on WHEN AND WHY DID YOU JOIN MM? I joined mastermind in July 2011 and attended my first Think Tank day in December 2011. When I joined I had already burnt my bridges and left corporate and had worked out that I never wanted to go back. I knew that I had to find a way to make my c o a c h i n g b u s i n e s s p r o fi t a b l e a n d Mastermind and guidance from Sharon, seemed like the answer. I knew nothing about business and really never intended to have my own business when I started the Diploma program in February 2011. How things have changed!

WHAT WERE YOUR EXPECTATIONS? I signed up for MM expecting to learn the nuts and bolts of how to start and grow a business. This program has provided so much more than that. Most importantly I have learned how to think like a business owner! And as for the incredibly supportive MM community who are always on hand with ideas and advice‌ I say thank you.

WHERE WERE YOU AT WHEN YOU STARTED OUT IN TERMS OF MINDSET? WHERE ARE YOU NOW? The best way to describe my mindset when I joined MM would have been one of a disgruntled employee! I was definitely at VP Level 1 and expecting someone else to have the answers for me. As you can imagine Sharon cleared up that misconception pretty quickly. Now, 18 months later, I am taking responsibility for my outcomes, empowered by the choices that I make and excited to have found my voice.

WHAT ARE THE THREE KEY MESSAGES YOU BELIEVE HAVE MADE THE MOST DIFFERENCE TO YOU IN THE PAST 13 MONTHS? 1. Mindset is everything. Crappy mindset will only lead to crappy results. The resources TCI offers to ensure that your mindset is working for you not against you are endless… use them! 2. Persistence…. and have faith that by keeping on giving it a go and providing value that eventually the success will come. 3. Keep showing up, whether that is on FB, at trainings, on webinars, crewing. Surround yourself with the language and mindset of success. Remember you will become the average of the 5 people you hang around the most.

YOU’RE A VIP MEMBER, WHAT DOES THE YEAR AHEAD HOLD FOR YOU THAT YOU’RE MOST EXCITED ABOUT? As I look back on 2012 I am humbled by what I have learned, how much I have grown and most importantly how I have assisted organisations and their leaders to achieve their goals. As I look towards 2013 I am excited about taking all the growth and knowledge that I have gained this year and apply it in my business and with my clients. So much to look forward too!

CREATE YOUR OWN ONLINE NEWSPAPER - IT'S CALLED PAPERLI WWW.PAPER.LI Once you establish your account, you can choose from any range of topics and then the info is automatically 'pulled' together for you to effectively produce a newspaper. The content 'feeds' are then updated as determined by you (I think it's every 24 hours of once a week?). Could be another option to throw into your marketing mix.
