IT MAY not be a Christmas miracle but the Minister for Health’s announcement that a new hospital is to be built within the Mid-West has offered hope that an emergency department can return to Co Clare. hospital in Co Clare. Progressing all three options is “the first time in a long time we have an announcement that will go some way to achieving parity and equity with other regions but only if it is done properly,” Friends of Ennis Hospital Chairperson, Angela Coll told The Clare Echo. As reported by The Clare Echo last week, a number of suitable sites for the location of a hospital have been identified by Clare County Council and brought to the attention of the HSE.
