DOONBEG is braced to have up to 75,000 visitors for The Irish Open in September but the attendance of one high-profile guest has yet to be confirmed. US President, Donald Trump known around these parts as the West Clare hotelier has yet to indicate if he will be in Doonbeg for The Irish Open. Trump has previously said it would be “an honour” to be at his resort for one of the biggest sporting events to take place in

West Clare. General Manager of Trump Doonbeg, Joe Russell said on the potential attendance of the US President, “We do know he wants to come but the way the world is, you never know what’s going to happen. But we have not received any confirmation yet”. Championship Director with the DP World Tour, Paul Gillmon detailed they are expecting up to 75,000 in Doonbeg for The Irish Open. “I’m anticipating as strong of attendance as we’ve had in the past few years”.
