BLACK FRIDAY MAYHEM C

LARE businesses are reacting to the news that a third of Irish shoppers will increase their spend this Black Friday. A new survey by PwC indicates that 32 per cent of Irish shoppers will increase their spending during this year’s Black Friday/Cyber Monday sales and 26 per cent will increase their spending in the run-up to Christmas. PwC said that the increase in spending reflects a more positive outlook among consumers (25 per cent) about the economy

in the year ahead. In recent years, Black Friday (November 23) has become an established feature in the Irish shopping calendar. It has rapidly gone from being a novelty import to being a significant generator of sales for retailers and brands going into the Christmas period. In this week’s edition of The Clare Echo, we have a number of pages dedicated to finding the best deals in Clare this Black Friday, with dozens of local businesses putting on sales for the day.
