EDESTRIANISATION in Ennis is to be discussed in greater detail over the coming months as work continues on a mobility plan for the county town. All current pedestrianisation measures in Ennis town centre are to be lifted at the end of this month but will resurface in detailed discussions which are due to begin in October. Separate proposals seeking a new plan

for the town centre were raised this week by Mayor of Ennis, Cllr Ann Norton (IND) and Cllr Paul Murphy (FG). “People are almost besieging us to bring in pedestrianisation,” Cllr Clare Colleran Molloy (FF) commented. Cllr Pat Daly (FF) hailed pedestrianisation as “a great success” with Cllr Johnny Flynn (FG) noting that the majority of the public want it introduced.
