LARECASTLE will have fifteen to eighteen trucks driving through the village each hour for
at least seven years as part of the planned decommissioning of Roche which will also see waste transported from Co Clare across Europe. A PROUD Kilkenny man at heart with a soft spot for County Clare, popular shopkeeper Jack Heaslip says he is delighted at the opportunity to finally relax, admonishing that the virus has finally pushed him into retirement. Speaking to The Clare Echo this week as part of our Buy Into Clare series, Jack recounts his time in Ennis since his arrival in 1953 up until the current pandemic, which he says he’s sure the town will bounce back from.
