Students’ Success at Jack Petchey “Speak Out” Challenge This half term two year 10 students, Ferdosi and Rebecca, took part in the regional final for Hackney in the Jack Petchey “Speak Out” Challenge with great success, both delivering inspiring speeches.

The students had just one day of public speaking training at school before taking the microphone at the competition which was held at Skinners Academy. They were also joined by year 11 student Matteo, who acted as a competition judge as he was a runner up in the “Speak Out Challenge” last year.
The “Speak Out” Challenge is annually run with funding by the Jack Petchey Foundation and the Speakers Trust, in order to promote confidence and public speaking in students and young people.

PSA Sixth Form Meeting
Both Rebecca and Ferdosi did very well, with Ferdosi coming first out of 14 finalists and winning a £100 gift certificate. Ferdosi, whose speech was about making an impact in the world no matter how small you are, said: “I felt overwhelmed and I couldn’t believe it when they called
