Shelby Fields

(University of South Alabama)

S

helby Fields is a nontraditional, first-generation student at the University of South Alabama majoring in Speech and Hearing Sciences. After being unable to access federal financial aid support before age 24, she spent years in corporate accounting while taking community college classes part-time. Following her mother’s passing in 2023, she returned to her education with renewed purpose, enrolling at South Alabama the following year. Fields has maintained a 4.0 GPA, earned a Summer Undergraduate Research Fellowship, and been inducted into Tau Sigma and Alpha Sigma Lambda, all while serving as Vice President of Animal Rights Alliance and volunteering weekly with a local cat rescue. She plans to pursue a Doctor of Audiology after graduation.

Receiving the Gift of Membership has had a real impact on me because it removed the immediate financial barrier and allowed me to accept this opportunity without the stress of trying to come up with funds I do not currently have.

because of you Your generosity fuels O∆K’s mission to develop leaders. On behalf of the Board of Trustees, staff, and the thousands of members across our Society, thank you. Your generosity to Omicron Delta Kappa is more than a gift — it’s an investment in leadership and those who carry O∆K’s mission of recognizing and developing leaders at all stages of life. Because of your support, students are stepping into circle leadership roles, members are reconnecting with the values that shaped their own leadership journeys, and our capacity to serve continues to grow. This past year alone, your contributions have helped fund scholarships, circle programming grants, and leadership development initiatives, directly touching the lives of members who represent the very best of what O∆K stands for: scholarship, leadership, and service to others. We know you have many worthy causes competing for your support, and we don’t take it for granted that you’ve chosen to invest in O∆K. Your continued partnership tells our members — many of whom are being recognized for leadership for the very first time — that their potential matters to people beyond their own campus. Thank you for believing in the mission of Omicron Delta Kappa and for believing in the leaders we serve.

Your Support, Their Success

Jensen Rocha

(Washington and Lee University)

I am sincerely grateful for your belief in students like me, and I look forward to the opportunity to make a meaningful impact in the years ahead.

J

ensen Rocha graduated magna cum laude from Washington and Lee University in 2023 with a B.S. in chemistry and a minor in environmental studies. At W&L, she conducted organic chemistry research, served as treasurer of Campus Kitchen to fight food insecurity, competed as a varsity track and field athlete, and founded the annual Spring Cleanout Garage Sale to cut waste during student move-out. Since graduating, Rocha has built a career in renewable energy. She earned an MPhil in energy technology from the

University of Cambridge, helped found a battery startup focused on uniform pressure application, and worked as a scientist and engineer at a battery scale-up company. This fall, Rocha begins her J.D. at Harvard Law School as a 2026 recipient of the John L. Alford Scholarship in Law. She plans to pursue clean energy law and policy, using her scientific and engineering background to help accelerate the transition to a more sustainable energy future in the United States. Her path from the lab to law school reflects the leadership and lifelong learning O∆K celebrates.

Your generosity motivates me to continue pursuing excellence and to use my education

224 McLaughlin St. Lexington, VA 24450-2002

Honoring a Friend When Keira Maupin (Belmont University, 2026) lost her friend Kayley Tigges, she turned grief into purpose. Leading “Team Belmont for Kayley” at Nashville’s Walk for Victory, she rallied more than 30 participants and dozens of donors across Belmont University. Together, they raised $2,810 for Marfan syndrome research, patient resources, and community programming, earning “Most Spirited” honors and placing second overall. Her leadership turned personal loss into lasting impact for others facing rare connective tissue disorders.
