"God has kept me during the Coronavirus Pandemic. I am very thankful I learned to trust in God and to have faith from the teachings of my pastor, Ralph Douglas West. During my journey, I have worked for two years as a Disaster Case Manager for Hurricane Harvey. My job was scheduled to end in August 2020. Everyone on my team had go�en termina�on le�ers via email. I never received a le�er, but I knew the program was ending, and they would hire for the next project. During the first 30 days of the pandemic, I received a courtesy call from a deacon on behalf of Pastor West. I asked them to pray I would not get laid off. We prayed, and they encouraged me. In addi�on to prayer, I am grateful that we can con�nue bible studies online. I took a Small Groups class, “Masterclass with Pas: Le� Alone” that helped build my faith. It was a great class! Then the miracle happened. I received a call two days before the program ended. The company had offered extensions to 10 employees to work un�l November 2020. They called and asked me to return my equipment. When I arrived in my office, they informed me I was hired to work Tropical Storm Imelda with a $10,000.00 a year increase in my salary. I said, “Nobody but God!” I never stopped paying my �thes or my Our Journey pledge. My company laid off nine employees and rehired them for the same program, which caused them to lose their seniority and original hire date. God showed me favor. When I called to see why I had not received my PTO from the other project, I was told they never terminated my employment, and I s�ll had all my seniority."
