September marks our “2nd start of the year”…..that’s when we begin working with our K-12 education partners and introducing students to local employers. We could not do this work without dedicated superintendents, principals, career & college instructors and counselors. Thank you all for allowing us to expand the possibilities of your students.

October will mark our 12th year of celebrating Manufacturing Month. We have 10 manufacturing members opening their doors to expose students and teachers to the array of career opportunities that manufacturing offer.

This November will mark our 8th year of celebrating Healthcare Month. I will be reaching out to the healthcare institutions to arrange for tours as well.

We look forward to building awareness with our education partners to the many careers that exist locally in various industries.

Best in profits !

Meet Michelle Scorti Peterson — New K–12 Programs Coordinator for Middletown City Schools (our new Passport To Tomorrow Liaison)

Michelle is a proud Middletown High School graduate whose heart has always been rooted in her hometown. “From the beginning of my career, my goal was to one day return to Central Office and serve the community that shaped me,” she shared.

Michelle began her journey in education teaching 5th grade at Mayfield Elementary, and later returned to the district as principal of Creekview Elementary. Now, she’s back for the third time, bringing her experience, passion, and deep connection to the community to Middletown City Schools.

A fun bonus? Michelle married her high school sweetheart, and they have two adult sons and a daughter-in-law who live in Cleveland and Philadelphia.

Michelle looks forward to meeting the chamber membership and making local connections for their students.
