October means Manufacturing Month! The National Association of Manufacturers (NAM) declared the first Friday in October as Manufacturing Day. It is designed to build awareness of the careers that manufacturing has to offer. 2025 marks our 12th year celebrating. We have 9 companies hosting 7 schools. Thank you to the following for opening your doors to the next generation workforce: BlueScope, Crane Consumables, Deceuninck North America, Essity, Magellan Aerospace, Phillips Tube Group, Pilot Chemical, Shape Corporation, and Shepherd Middletown.

I’d like to thank the businesses who have agreed to participate along with those at our area schools for coordinating with their students to expose them to employment opportunities. Without your help and assistance, none of this would be possible.

This November will mark our 9th year of celebrating Healthcare Month. I will be reaching out to the healthcare institutions to arrange for tours as well.

Best in profits !

Workforce Update

Announcing The Workforce Institute. Roughly two (2) years ago, I visited my colleague at the Tuscaloosa (AL) Chamber of Commerce to learn about a program they introduced a number of years ago. The premise is to get educators out of the building to learn about local employers and the skills students need to obtain entry-level employment. Last year, we piloted this program with the Passport To Tomorrow instructors with Middletown City Schools.

This October, we will be hosting 19 high school guidance counselors from eight (8) local high schools. We will be visiting four (4) local employers from Oct-Jan to learn about the skill sets they need to fill entry-level positions.

• AMS Parts

• BlueScope

• UGN

• Atrium Medical Center

We submitted a grant to the First Financial Foundation to help fund the program. We thank them for helping us to tear down the walls between education & business to allow better understanding.

The Molson Coors Trenton Brewery, one of North America's most modern large scale brewing facilities, serves as the sole producer of all disaster relief water for the entire Molson Coors network. Since launching their canned water donation program in 2017, the company has provided more than 3 million cans of clean drinking water to communities recovering from natural disasters. The Trenton facility was chosen for this humanitarian effort because it sits on a natural aquifer, making it ideal for producing high-quality drinking water. With natural disasters increasing, the company recently doubled its annual canned water output to 830,000 cans.

We are collaborating with two (2) other organizations to bring six (6) Candidate Forums to our members & residents this fall. We partnered with the Menard Family Center of Democracy to deliver our Candidate College this spring and collaborate with The Miami Student and their journalists to moderate the candidate sessions.
