To promote careers in manufacturing, the National Association of Manufacturers (NAM) declared the first Friday in October as Manufacturing Day. It is designed to build awareness of the careers that manufacturing has to offer. 2024 marks our 11th year celebrating Manufacturing Day/Month. We have 9 companies hosting 5 schools. Thank you to the following host facilities for opening your doors to the next generation workforce: BlueScope, Crane Consumables, Deceuninck North America, Magellan Aerospace, Phillips Tube Group, Pilot Chemical, Shape Corporation, Shepherd Middletown and Worthington Industries

I’d like to thank the businesses who have agreed to participate and tell their story to the next generation workforce, along with the career and college readiness instructors at our area schools for coordinating with their students to expose them to employment opportunities. Without your help and assistance, none of this would be possible.

We are celebrating Healthcare Month in November and using a very similar format.

Changing the narrative

Collaborating to Change The Narrative

For the past 2 years, we’ve been working with our members to fund an initiative to change the narrative in our community. For the past several decades, we’ve lost local representation to tell our stories we’ve lost our radio station (WPFB & WPBF), TV Middletown, and all of us can see how the topics have changed within the Journal-News. We are now taking the initiative to change the narrative and share the more positive stories that never seem to make it to the readers.

Issue Media Group is tasked with changing the narrative of countless 2nd tiered cities across the Midwest. The Chamber and Cincinnati Commercial Contracting are the sponsors of this new initiative. We thank Issue Media Group for including us in their Cincinnati edition of Soapbox as part of their Partner City project. Once there, go to the tab PLACES and you’ll find Middletown.
