People powered recycling

Family Owned, Community Driven for Four Generations

Started in 1924 by two brothers just looking to make a living with what they could carry in a cart, over the next near century, Cohen Recycling grew into one of North America’s largest scrap metal processors. Our facilities include automobile shredders, balers, shears, mobile shearing, torch processing, auto crushers, an extensive truck and rail car fleet, landfill services and rail car dismantling.

There’s a lot more to recycling than separating your metals from your plastic and paper. As a key part of the global manufacturing supply chain and servicer of essential industry, recyclers are accountable to keeping the metal moving, and that takes a lot of moving parts and hands.

“Working for Cohen has empowered me to be creative, effective and grow both professionally and personally,” said Andrea Cunningham, a manager who has been with Cohen since 2006. “I am

now able to pass on the value of my experiences and enable my peers to experience the same for their own futures.”

Cohen was among the first companies in the nation to become dual certified in electronics recycling in 2012, and by 2017 had launched Cobalt, a company specializing in helping businesses and organizations safely, securely, and responsibly dispose of their used electronics. This field, known as IT Asset Disposition, combines best practices in material sustainability and information security to protect organizations from data breaches and environmental liabilities.

Cohen is headquartered in Middletown, Ohio and has operations in Ohio, Indiana, Kentucky and Tennessee and sells material all over the world. For as long as the Cohen family has had a company, they have sought to give back to the communities around us, without whom we would have no metal to recycle.

Kettering Health

Guiding Our Communities To Their Best Health

At Kettering Health, we offer more than healthcare. We provide improved quality of life. Through our innovative and Christ centered care, we serve southwestern Ohio through more than 120 outpatient facilities, 14 medical centers, and thousands of compassionate, expert care providers.

At Kettering Health, you can trust that your care is in the best hands. Our faith based not for profit system features services and facilities such as high quality maternity care, state of the art cancer centers, a leading heart hospital, and cutting edge brain and spine surgery. Our medical centers consistently receive national accolades, such as the IBM Watson Health™ 100 Top Hospitals ranking. From primary care to robotic assisted surgery, our health experts are committed to providing patients wellness focused care.

During the polio epidemic, Kettering Health’s founders, Eugene and Virginia Kettering, witnessed a different approach to healthcare. They observed at Hinsdale Sanitarium and Hospital near Chicago the difference compassionate, whole person healthcare makes in a community.

Eugene and his wife, Virginia, sought to fulfill that vision by building a hospital dedicated to the same approach, which would serve as a living memorial to Eugene’s father, Charles F. Kettering, and his innovative spirit.

For more than 50 years now, Kettering Health continues to stand at the unique intersection of innovation, healthcare, and hospitality all while continuing to elevate the health and well being of western Ohio’s excellent, diverse, and growing communities.

At Kettering Health, our promise is to follow in the steps of Jesus by guiding every person to their best health.

We are built from many people, places, backgrounds, and perspectives and this promise made by one of us is a promise kept by all of us. We will work as one Kettering Health as we share in this commitment.

Very simply, we promise to be our best.

Setting new standards in helping others

Providing Excellent ServicesSubstance Abuse & Mental Illness

Sunrise Treatment Center is a substance abuse treatment program focusing primarily on opioid use disorders. There are locations in Cincinnati, Forest Park, Middletown, Dayton, Milford, Piqua, Over the Rhine, Florence (KY), Columbus, Portsmouth, and Springfield. We are a privately held company that takes pride in strengthening communities surrounding our sites.

Sunrise started in 2007 as Dr. Jeffrey Bill’s private practice, where he provided Office Based Opioid Treatment (OBOT). After several years, he became determined to build his practice into a proper treatment program that would provide the psychosocial support he knew was needed for achieving the treatment outcomes of which he believed medication assisted treatment was capable. In April 2012, Steven Smith (COO) joined Sunrise and developed it into an Outpatient Alcohol and Drug Addiction Program. In the summer of 2013, Sunrise transitioned to Ohio’s first buprenorphine only Opioid Treatment Program (OTP). This allowed increased access to services and a more comprehensive approach to treatment. This was quickly followed by initiating the acceptance of Ohio Medicaid for payment for services. In July 2015, Sunrise opened an Intensive Outpatient Program (IOP), which added an additional level of care. This allowed for continued treatment for patients who were not a good fit or appropriate for non intensive outpatient treatment. In April 2016, Sunrise opened a second location in Forest Park, OH. In July of 2017, the corporate office and West Side treatment center moved from Bridgetown to the current location in Dent on Harrison Avenue. In April of 2018, Sunrise opened an office to serve the residents of Middletown and surrounding communities. Sunrise then opened an office in Dayton in December of 2018 and an office in Milford in March of 2019. Since then, we have added sites in Piqua, Over the Rhine, and Florence, Kentucky, with plans to expand further in 2022. Sunrise will continue to expand to give communities quality, evidence based care in the fight against opioid addiction. In July of 2020, Sunrise became certified as a B Corporation, joining a collaborative of leaders in the global movement for an inclusive, equitable, and regenerative

economy as the United States’ first qualifying OTP and North America’s third qualifying addiction treatment center. As of July 2021, Sunrise is recognized as being one of the Best for the World™ B Corporations of 2021, scoring in the top 5% globally for the “Customers” impact area. Sunrise is an active member of the communities in which are offices are located, participating in volunteer events throughout the year. In October of 2021, Sunrise acquired Port 45 Recovery, LLC, with locations in Portsmouth, Ohio and Columbus, Ohio. This acquisition allowed for Sunrise to expand services to include partial hospitalization services and residential treatment options. Sunrise will be opening their Springfield, Ohio location spring of 2022. Expanding patient services and treatment options will continue to be a priority for Sunrise.

Our Purpose To ease the suffering of those with substance abuse and mental illness.

Mission Statement To provide the best behavioral health services, while strengthening our communities and offering a great place to work.
