On Thursday, June 12, we hosted our Annual Golf Outing at Shaker Run Golf Club. I’d like to thank all the sponsors for their involvement in the event and all the players who enjoyed the day. The sponsors are listed later in this newsletter and a link to more pics.

During the next 6-8 weeks, we will be meeting with our K-12 partners to develop a strategy for the 2025-’26 school year. We’ve done great work, but there is still some challenging tasks ahead of us:

• more students to complete their skills profile via CareerCoach

• more educators to tour more businesses to learn what skills are needed by local employers

• more businesses represented in the classroom

Should any of you like to be involved with our local school districts, feel free to call the office (513-422-4551) and we’d be happy to continue the conversation.

The Rising Storm

You can’t prepare for a storm if you don’t know it’s coming.

The US faces a shortfall of millions of workers in the decade to come. Workforce strategies need to adapt, but if you don’t know what changes lie in store, you can’t know what changes to make in response.

The disruption ahead is like a hurricane. The Rising Storm outlines a few items to consider, providing insight on when the storm will arrive.

The news is not comforting the most acute shortages of workers will arrive in under a decade, primarily in the next five years, and the industries hardest hit are among those our society relies on most, including healthcare and construction.

• The Introduction

• Conditions Forming: The Baby Boomer’s Labor Market

• The Outer Bands: Today’s Labor Market

• Landfall: The Decade Ahead

As a faith-based health system, Kettering Health’s mission is to live God’s love by promoting and restoring health. This means we believe in a whole-person approach to healthcare. Not only do we aim to restore the mind and body, but we also strive to heal the spirit.

Our story

In the early 1960s, Eugene Kettering and his wife, Virginia, donated the land for a new hospital to be built in Dayton, Ohio, and operated under Seventh-day Adventist healthcare principles. In 1964, Charles F. Kettering Memorial Hospital (now Kettering Health Main Campus) opened its doors to the public. The hospital’s namesake, Eugene’s father, Charles F. Kettering, dedicated his life to tackling tough questions and vigorously pursuing innovation, and his life’s mission continues to shape Kettering Health into the health system it is today.
