PRES/CEOMESSAGE Rick Pearce Thank you all for a very productive year, especially for our Future Ready Task Force and its initiatives.

As of the printing of this report, there are 37 endorsing organizations of Passport To Tomorrow (P2T) and 9 organizations that are participating in Adopt A Class. Thank you to those who are participating and delivering necessary business skills to the next generation.

To remind you, Passport To Tomorrow (Middletown City Schools) brings our Future Ready Skill Set to life in the classroom and begins to deliver a set of necessary skills to students that will aid them in life after high school, regardless of their career path. Middletown City Schools now has two individuals dedicated to P2T, Jen Hayes and Amanda Neu. Jen and Amanda make it much easier to communicate with the schools and those endorsing organizations.

Last spring, we conducted a “pilot program” for Skills2Careers with area juniors and seniors and learned a great deal from the exercise. Improvements were made in the software and we’re conducting “Phase 2” this winter. There is more later in this report.

2023ACCOMPLISHMENTS Skills2Careers Pilot Program March 1 – April 30, 2023 This program was conducted for several reasons: • to introduce local students to a tool that identifies and tracks their skill sets • to work with employers to identify the skills they need in their entry level positions • to demonstrate to students, educators and employers that the technology exists that matches job seekers to employers via skill sets

Participating high schools: • Edgewood, Madison, Middletown, Monroe • 275 juniors & seniors participated • 66 candidates were matched with local employers • Those names were shared with employers Participating employers: • Deceuninck North America • Crane Consumables • Worthington Industries • Shape Corp.
