of Dealerships Food Drive Founded by pro skateboarder Rob Dyrdek in 2010, Street League Skateboarding (SLS) was created to foster growth, popularity, and acceptance of street skateboarding worldwide. Since then, SLS has evolved to become a platform that serves to excite the skateboarding community, educate both the avid and casual fans, and empower communities through its very own SLS Foundation. In support of SLS’ mission, Nike SB joined forces with SLS in 2013 to create SLS Nike SB World Tour. In 2014, SLS began a new multi-year television partnership with FOX Sports 1 that includes live broadcasts on FS1 and global distribution through the FOX family of networks. New in 2015, SLS announced a long-term partnership with Skatepark of Tampa (SPoT) to create a premium global qualification system that spans from amateur events to the SLS Nike SB Super Crown World Championship. One in every 10 households in Monmouth County has

earnings below the Real Cost of Living; one in every 7 households earn below the RCL in Ocean County.

We will be collecting items throughout the last week in

July and plan to do another week in August. Items can be

brought to the Ford/ Lincoln Showroom on Route 72 East and dropped in our donations bin. Some of the food bank’s most With summer 2016 in full swing, the food bank is in the highest demand for food donations. Many students rely on a meal being provided at school but these few months they have to live without it. Children who do not get the important nutrients they need can become sick more often and recover much slower. To help our neighbors in need, Causeway Family of Dealerships will be hosting our very own Food Drive in which all items will be donated directly to the Food Bank of Monmouth and Ocean County. New Jersey’s very high cost of living makes it difficult for low-income families to make ends meet. Poverty levels have increased dramatically, along with the gap between the rich and poor. It is up to our communities to come together to realize this is a growing issue and that we can lend a helping hand. Here are some facts about the current hunger situation across our counties: • Over 36,000 children in Monmouth and Ocean Counties struggle with hunger. • Over 130,000 residents in these counties were served by the food bank in 2014. That’s 1 in 10 residents! • Almost 80% of households report that they buy unhealthy foods because of the inexpensive prices.

needed items are listed below: •

Canned tuna, chicken, salmon (in water)

Canned fruits and vegetables

Brown, wild, and white rice

Whole grain pasta

Peanut butter and jelly

Cooking oils

Healthy snacks

Please remember, no glass containers! We hope you are excited as we are to help our communi-

ties! If you would like to learn more about the food bank of

All-New Lincoln MKX Tops All Competitors, Says Consumer Reports

The Lincoln MKX “outguns all other luxury midsized S U V s , including the popular Lexus RX350 and BMW X5,” according to Consumer Reports. In the vehicle review, which appears in the May 2016, issue of the magazine – on news stands and online now – Consumer Reports describes the MKX as “ready for prime time – with a regal street presence, superior handling and braking, effortless acceleration, a plush interior, and a suite of advanced technology.” That’s music to the ears of Scott Tobin, director, Lincoln Product Development. “I’m really proud of how the entire cross-functional team came together to deliver such an outstanding vehicle and such an outstanding result,” he said. “The Consumer Reports review compliments nearly every aspect of the MKX, so it really is a testament to a collaborative team with great leadership coming together to get all the pieces to work in unison and deliver that experiential element for our customers.” Consumer Reports gave the Lincoln MKX an overall road test score of 87, outranking both the Lexus RX350h and the Land Rover Range Rover by 10 points. “Lincoln is on a journey, but what you want to have on your journey is some proof points like this that say we’re heading in the right direction,” said Tobin. Tobin says the success of

the MKX comes from listening to customers and delivering what the Lincoln brand stands for. “Our brand is not about aggressive ride, handling and design. It’s much more about quiet luxury and elegance,” he said. “So when I see comments from Consumer Reports saying, ‘bumps and ruts are nicely muted and the cabin stays quiet and tranquil,’ that is the combination we’re looking for. “We want a composed yet engaging ride and to have features like our 22-way seats with independent thigh support to get customers perfectly comfortable. These types of features coupled with an intuitive HMI (human machine interface) make Lincoln,” he continued. “We want to deliver what customers want in the Lincoln way – not in an aggressive pretentious way – that people will find inviting.” Tobin emphasized the fact that it takes a very broad team of experts to make any vehicle program a success. “No individual can do it alone. It takes teams of people,” he said. “I think as we coalesce as a Lincoln team that our results are getting better, and as we understand who we are and where we’re going it builds confidence for us moving forward.” Tobin said the support that Lincoln is receiving from throughout the company is invaluable. “Lincoln is an on endeavor to become a world-class competitor in the luxury space and it will take the entire Ford Motor Company working together to make that happen,” he said. “We at Lincoln appreciate all the support we get across the globe in delivering the most excellent products that the Lincoln Motor Company can deliver.”
