SUPERINTENDENT’S NOTE

I thank my God whenever I think of you; and every time pray for all of you, I pray with joy remembering how you have helped to spread the Good News from the day you first heard it up to the present. Philippians 1:3-6

Dear Friends in Christ,
We are excited to celebrate all 112 of our Catholic schools during Catholic Schools Week 2022!
When we began the 2021-22 school year, the Catholic schools within the Archdiocese of Cincinnati increased our overall enrollment by 500 students, our first increase since 1998! Now close to 40,000, this increase is attributed to the hard work and extreme efforts of our school leaders, educators, staff, children, families and communities.

Our Catholic schools faced incredible challenges during the COVID-19 pandemic. I could not be more grateful to our school leaders, educators and staff members for all they have done, including their dedication, heartfelt efforts, perseverance, creativity and extra time spent to keep our schools open during such erratic and unpredictable times. Of course, this was accomplished in partnership with the families as they supported their children, our students, during the pandemic. Students continue learning the message of Jesus Christ. Our academic programs remain intact and our learning, despite incredible odds, continues in what many call, “the new normal.”
I am proud to work with Catholic professionals who proved their commitment to our Church’s mission and who value Catholic education as a vehicle to spread the Good News to God’s children. I look forward to our continued growth in both student numbers and our Catholic faith.
In Gratitude,

Susan M. Gibbons Director of Educational Services and Superintendent
