Students elect next year’s ASB and class officers New council leaders to be sworn in during Class Day activities on May 30 by Delaney Fox Arts and Life Editor

As this school year comes to a close, the NDB student body elected the students who will lead their school and classes during this upcoming year. In addition to Associate Student Body (ASB) elections, the rising senior, ju-

nior, and sophomore classes held elections for their own class councils and homeroom presidents. All of these new members are ready to work hard and take on the responsibility of being student leaders. The rising sophomores, or Spartans, elected Class President Ali Lewis, Vice President Stella

Jaunich, Secretary Nithya Mani, Activities Director Nikka Ahani, Athletic Director Jorja Fox, Spirit Commissioner Kolby Robinson, and Historian McKenna Kirscht. Jaunich says, “I am excited to be vice president because I get to be involved and be with people I enjoy being around. It is

going to be such a fun experience.” The rising juniors, or the Knights, elected President Olivia Pera, Vice President Kylie O’Donoghue, Secretary Lizzy Weishaar, Activities Director Julia Roche, Athletic Director Alayiah San Juan, See ELECTION | Page 4

The Titans gather together to show off their college sweatshirts. by Michelle Kleytman Managing Editor As the school year comes to the end, so does the reign of the current senior class, the Titans. Participating in several traditions that they’ve only watched other seniors experience, they are all now participating in them: their last Aquacades, their last Sober Prom, their last prom. There’s also the Senior Day of Reflection, this year’s new Fire and Ice, and Senior Holiday, just to name a few. All of these events lead up to and end with their high school graduation. Senior Jordan Sasaki says, “I think it is really cool. It is sort of something every senior goes through. I am excited to graduate and go through all the traditions that everybody else has gone through. It makes it really special.” All of them are enjoying their senior class privileges. Many of them leave right after homeroom on B-days and wear free dress everyday now that it is May. This year, they were able to create the daily lunch

menu for the whole school for a week. In addition to these privileges are senior class responsibilities. Earlier in the semester, seniors had to buy light-colored dresses and white high heel shoes, bringing them to school so the whole class could line up in order of “height” and practice walking for baccalaureate and graduation. They also purchased their caps and gowns. In about a week, they will come together for the last few times for practice and then the ceremony itself. Megan Gory stated, “Our preparation began at the beginning of the semester, so we would not get stressed about the end of our school year.” On Friday, May 3, the Titans participated in its senior day of reflection. They met at Saint Bartholomew’s church, along with several senior teachers, and went through an entire day of reflection, going over the past four years of experiences. Senior Sarah Fisher says, “I

My freshman year has been a whirlwind. However, along the way, I have learned many tips and tricks about how to survive the first year here at NDB. If I could give advice to the incoming freshman, my first recommendation is to get involved in school. I was on the volleyball team, which made it easier to make friends because we were already a team. If sports isn’t someone’s thing, I recommend they sign up to be a part of a club, which is a great way to meet both under and upperclassmen. While it can be hard
