1 Arise, shine; for thy light is come, and the glory of the Lord is risen upon thee.

2 For, behold, the darkness shall cover the earth, and gross darkness the people: but the Lord shall arise upon thee, and his glory shall be seen upon thee.

3 And the Gentiles shall come to thy light, and kings to the brightness of thy rising. Arise, shine; for thy light is come, and the glory of the Lord is risen upon thee.

4 Lift up thine eyes round about, and see: all they gather themselves together, they come to thee: thy sons shall come from far, and thy daughters shall be nursed at thy side.

5 Then thou shalt see, and ow together, and thine heart shall fear, and be enlarged; because the abundance of the sea shall be converted unto thee, the forces of the Gentiles shall come unto thee.

Christianity is not a burden or something that portrays endurance, Christianity is liberation and promotion. This article will unveil to you four reasons why you need to arise and shine as a child of God.

righteous leaves an inheritance for his children (Proverbs 13:22). One of the greatest ways you can keep an inheritance is by sowing seeds. Verse 5 of our text says that “… The forces of the Gentiles shall come unto thee”. The word “forces” means wealth. Therefore, the wealth of the Gentiles shall be released unto you. There will be a transfer of wealth, but if you are not a habitual or progressive sower, when that takes place, you'll be too lazy to get up and get it.

The Glory Of God Is Revealed In The Arising 1 Arise, shine; for thy light is come, and the glory of the Lord is risen upon thee.

The second reason you need to arise and shine as a child of God is that the glory of God is revealed in the arising. Those who clap and sing, “Oh Lord come down and manifest Your power”, there is no power for Him to manifest because He showed all the power He has when He raised Jesus from the dead. It is up to you to arise and take advantage of His power.

Here are three examples of this truth from the Word of God.

The Glory Of The Lord Is Upon You The rst reason you need to arise and shine as a child of God is that the glory of the Lord is upon you. From our text, the word “shine” means radiance or brightness and the glory of the Lord here is referring to the same glory that raised Jesus from the dead. The Bible says that, if that Spirit that raised Jesus from the dead dwells in you, that same Spirit shall quicken; give life to your mortal bodies (Romans 8:11). When the glory of the Lord comes upon you, it goes forth and heals every sickness and disease. That same glory is upon you to make wealth.

I listened to Jesse Duplantis say something very important.

He said that he had stored up so much money that even if his only granddaughter decided not to work her whole life, she would still have enough to live off. You may ask, “So, has he just been accumulating money?” No! He has so much because he's been sowing seeds into the ministry. The Bible says the

The Story Of The Four Lepers 2 Kings 7 recounts the story of four leprous men. There was a great famine in Israel and these four lepers who were at the entrance of the gate said to themselves, “If we stay here, we will die. Therefore, let’s rise” (2 Kings 7:4). So, they got up and took action. There was no room for dormancy, indifference, or sitting on the fence. As the lepers rose and went into the Syrian camp, the Spirit of the Lord went ahead of them and caused terror in the camp and the Syrian army ran off, leaving behind all the abundance they came with. The Bible says, “No man that warreth entangleth himself with the affairs of this life…”

(2 Timothy 2:4 (KJV). Men do not go to war carrying wealthy possessions; however, strangely this Syrian army went to war carrying so much abundance and God worked in them to take it. God is working on your behalf, so get up and do something.

Stop saying, “Pastors have been preaching about wealth, okay God, reveal your wealth”. You won't see wealth manifest until you go out and work. The Bible says that the whole earth is full of His goodness (Psalm 33:5), and it is for you and me. Your glory is revealed in your rising.

The Story Of The Prodigal Son The prodigal son in Luke 15 got to the point where he became so depraved that he started looking for the remnant feed of the swine. It was forbidden for an Israelite to rear swine or pigs, but he was willing to eat of their crumbs. That was not the end of the story. He came to his senses and said, “I will arise and go to my father and I will tell my father, ‘I've sinned before you and before heaven, don't take me as your son anymore, take me as one of your hired servants’” (Luke 15:18,19), and the Bible says that while he was still afar off, the hands of his father were wide open, waiting for him.

God's hand is open waiting for you.

It doesn't matter how many times you have made a mistake, He's not a God of a second chance but of another chance. You may say, “I blew it so many times”, that's why He's the God of another chance.

The Story of Samson The Bible says that the hair on Samson's head began to grow again and in Judges 16:26, Samson said to the boy who was leading him, “Let me feel the pillars… that I can lean on them”, and the boy led him and he shook it. The number of people Sampson killed in his death were more than those he killed when he was alive. That is another chance. I believe that if Samson had said to God, “Don't let me die with these people”, he would not have died but he said, “Lord, let me die with them” (Judges 16:30), and God answered His prayers.

So, be careful of what you say and the kind of prayers you pray. God does not answer prayers some times, and other times He will say no. That theology is not in the Word of God, it is religious and it is wrong. When you pray according to the will of God, He answers you one hundred percent of the time.

The Glory Is In The Gross Darkness 2 For, behold, the darkness shall cover the earth, and gross darkness the people: but the Lord shall arise upon thee, and his glory shall be seen upon thee.

The third reason you need to arise and shine as a child of God is that the glory is in the gross darkness. When the Bible says gross darkness, it doesn't just refer to darkness everywhere, it

refers to social, political, and economic darkness, but for this article I will focus on economic darkness. The gross darkness that shall cover the earth is for your good, and that good is to make a distinction between you and the unbeliever. Goshen was in Egypt and all manner of evil was happening in Egypt, but Goshen was not affected. This was because God was creating a distinction between the righteous and the unrighteous. One may ask if God is partial, being the creator of everybody. The truth is yes, God is partial in your favour.

He is God to everybody but a Father to you. He favours you for no reason. Jephthah said, “What God has given to me, will I not take?” (Judges 11:24b). He sets a table before you in the presence of your enemies. It is more interesting and enjoyable when the table that is set before you is set in the presence of your enemies. Your enemies are sickness, disease and poverty. In the midst of them all, God wants to distinguish you.

The Glory Is For Healing The fourth reason you need to arise and shine as a child of God is that the glory is for healing. This same glory has a healing virtue and it is for the healing of your body. The Bible says it shall quicken and give zoë life to your mortal body by His Spirit that dwells in you. It didn't say it shall give life to your spirit, but to your mortal body which refers to your esh. You may be burdened by guilt because of the wrong things you did in the past, leave that to God. All the sins you have ever committed and you will ever commit have been taken care of. You don't need one, it has been taken care of.

The elder brother of the prodigal son went to his father and said, “I served you all these years, but even a calf has not been killed for me. This your son who has gone haywire living riotously came back and you started a party for him”. The father responded, “I thought you knew better; I had already divided everything, therefore, every other thing that remained is yours. Moreover, being the rst son, you have a double portion. You have much more than your brother, if you want to party, go ahead and party. All that I have is yours”.

All things are yours; fruitfulness is yours; healing is yours.

Healing is the children's bread and not the children's meal.

The word “bread” means food. It's the children's food. If it says meal, then maybe it could be carbohydrate but when it says food, it contains all the nutrients that you need. That is why His name is the All-Breasted One. Breast milk has all the nutrients and babies who are fed exclusively with breast milk are healthier babies. God is The Breasted One and He gives you all that you need.
