The Rebel Spirit Boogie Nights CB750

The Honda CB750 engine, girder front end and amen savior frame have really been iconic symbols of the custom chopper scene since the 70’s. This chopper had made itself at home in my uncle’s garage. He had put it on the back burner for years. Like most of us gearheads who have several two wheeled toys, you pick and choose which one to tinker with and which ones collect a little dust. He had a pile of Hondas he sold me so he could make some room in his man cave and this one was the one Kristin and I were most stoked about! It had a cool coffin tank, king and queen seat and original chrome so we immediately started coming up with an idea of how we wanted it to look and we both agreed, straight from the 70s! We reached out to our friend Cody Rountree to lay down some sexy candy and flake on the tanks, and he did not disappoint!! There was many a nights cleaning and polishing that old chrome and we brought most of it back to life, and sent the rest to get re-plated. It sure was rewarding to see those invader wheels

start to sparkle after hours of elbow grease. Then we had to put our own custom spin on it and came up with a sweet sissy bar idea and decided on all the pieces we wanted chromed. A while back we won a prize pack of powder coating colors from MIT and decided on candy raspberry for the frame and some other custom pieces we added on. Huge shout out to Aegis for always killing the powder coating for us! And man those psychedelic colors came out better than we imagined! We really wanted to some unique lights on this baby too so we set out hunting for a pawn light and some different looking headlights and came across a set of 1964 Pontiac Grand Prix fog lights that were to badass to pass up! Every time we found a pawn light someone would beat us to buying it so like we always do, we thought “how could we make one ourselves?” We did some searching and found a company that makes rad replacement lenses for them, and a few candle snuffers, tubing, wiring, and a bulb later...we had our own pawn light! It’s definitely rewarding to add some custom touches that you built yourself. We ran into a few hard to find parts here and there like the spring keepers for the frame, those things are like searching for unicorns! Huge thanks to our good friend Rob at Lloyd’s Fabrication Solutions for making us a set! All in all this was another fun build in the books for The Rebel Spirit and we are grateful for all those who had the old parts we needed and those who helped us bring it back to life! -Zach, The Rebel Spirt MFCEO
