7th Annual Creekside Spring Bike Rally

Story and Photo by Alan Dockery
I know some of y'all ain't scared to play in the mud. Because I saw y’all at the
7th Annual Creekside Spring Rally the middle of April. This is one of the first events of the season for us who like to camp and party with bikers. Hosted by the Southern Gentlemen MC, the Creekside Rally is held on a nice private country property, in Gaston County, NC, where bikers could catch up with friends and party for the weekend.
The rally starts Friday afternoon as folks ride in to set up camp and vendor spots. But this year rain showers kept some folks home so I ain’t sure how many enjoyed Throwdown Jones on stage that night.
Saturday, once the rain stopped, folks started riding in to get in some of the rally and see friends and have a cold tasty beverage or three. DJ Tim was playing a variety of music as we sat in the shade or visited vendors. Yeah, there were some vendors selling those biker things that ain’t in Wally World and some good food too. Lucky’s Good Life folks were informing us about the medical benefits of CBD.
The Bob Karney, “Carolinas’ Biker Lawyer”, ladies were at Creekside handing out the latest cool SWAG. I got some tickets on the sweet dressed up Sportster the Gaston County Toy Run folks are raffling off.
Yeah, more folks drove this year since it was wet and the grounds kinda muddy. That’s OK come support the Southern Gentlemen and see some friends. You can clean the bike, truck and boots later.
That afternoon, Magic Mike and the guys put on some bike

games to entertain folks. He even entered some and won the Slow Ride since he started practicing early. Then Magic and Wendy won The Biker Beer Pong. That’s slam a beer and then toss in the trash can while riding by, grab another beer and race to the finish trash can. I don’t know what John Boy’s time was on the Obstacle Course, but it was clear he was the quickest.
year. No Duct Tape needed. Biggin held it steady, sorta. The thermometer is a good new modification for quick weenie changes. Anywho, Laura was the Weenie Queen riding with Cletus.
The property is well laid out with lots of camping area. Even with the rain there was plenty of dry camping space. A nice stage faces an area to dance and the bar and tables where folks can enjoy the bands. Saturday night Skynndeep with Shawn Mann took the stage to crank up the party and keep the rain away.
Creekside is such a cool site for a bike rally. It’s very private and a short ride from Charlotte, Hickory, Gastonia, Statesville and other Carolina towns. The Southern Gentlemen have been holding this rally for seven years and do both Spring and Fall rallies. Y’all ride on down to the creek when they do it again in September.
