On January 12, Lisa Marie Presley, daughter of Priscilla and Elvis Presley, passed away at the age of 54.

That Thursday morning, Presley was rushed to the hospital as a result of a potential cardiac arrest. A particular sad aspect is that she died only a couple of days after proudly watching Austin Butler win the Golden Globe for his role as Elvis in the critically acclaimed biopic.

Priscilla Presley released a statement that morning and expressed her love for her incredible daughter and her impact on the world. “It is with a heavy heart that I must share the devastating news that my beautiful daughter Lisa Marie has left us. She was the most passionate, strong and loving woman I have ever known. We ask for privacy as we try to deal with this profound loss. Thank you for the love and prayers. At this time there will be no further comment.”

Lisa Marie Presley followed in her father’s footsteps and became a singer/songwriter with three different albums that all had multiple songs to reach the top 20 and top 10 of the Billboard 200 albums chart.
