“…A CLASSIC POP SONGWRITER BACK AT HIS VERY BEST.” SUNDAY EXPRESS (ALBUM OF THE WEEK)

NICK HEYWARD: WOODLAND ECHOES TOUR PLUS SUPPORT FROM THOMAS WALSH

Following the release of his critically acclaimed new album ‘Woodland Echoes’ that entered at No. 4 in the independent album charts, Nick Heyward has announced a UK tour for 2018. Woodland Echoes, his first record in 18 years, “can’t be called a return to form for Heyward because he never lost his form; it just went unheard for years,” as written by All Music within the full star’s review. “Call it a welcome return instead, because the world of pop music always needs music this smart, tuneful, and unabashedly romantic.” Nick Heyward – as perfectly described by Louder Than War is still “a songwriter of the highest order.”

WEDNESDAY 27 JUNE 8PM £22.50 CONCS £21.50

Prior to his hugely successful and prolific solo career, Nick came to prominence as the frontman of percolating pop-funk new wave group Haircut 100, a foundational part of the 80s-pop explosion. They released four UK Top 10 hit singles, with their debut album Pelican West reaching no. 2 in the UK album charts, no. 31 in USA’s Billboard 200, and ending up being certified platinum by BPI, with Nick gracing the cover of pacesetting style magazine The Face.

GALLERY MORAG WARRACK: WHERE’S MORAG? 19 March – 22 April Can you identify the Sussex locations in these prints and paintings? Many of them are in and around the Horsham area, while others may be off the beaten track. Visitors are invited to name the places (or give a post code or even a grid reference - think arty geo-caching!) One lucky visitor will then be able either to choose a painting at the end of the exhibition or to commission a painting of their own. Morag works in a wide variety of styles and exhibits regularly at Roffey Park Institute, Colgate, and with several galleries in Sussex and beyond including the Green Tree Gallery, The Ashdown Gallery and the Aldeburgh Gallery.

CAMERON BENNETT 23 April – 3 June ‘FAMILY’ is an examination of the universal horrors and joys which come from family life, with glimpses into the challenges of balancing parental roles, a profession and personal pursuits. These themes are explored through the paintings, drawings and sketchbook pages of artist Cameron Bennett, all of which feature his immediate family and reflect his obsession with drawing. Bennett is an American expat living in West Sussex. He has taught Art at Tanbridge House School in Horsham.

QEII SCHOOL 4 June – 1 July “MY WORLD” : Students from 2 to 19 years of age will be exhibiting their art. Featured will be the work sponsored by The Arts Society Horsham, and facilitated by Visual Artist Rachel Gadsden.

COLLYERS ADULT EDUCATION 2 July – 5 August An exhibition of work by students from Collyer’s Adult Education (The Art Class). The theme for this year is ‘A Dialogue: Land, Sea, Brick’ inspiring students to create an exciting range of artworks across different disciplines. Innovative use of materials and processes were used for an installation piece based on ‘inner landscapes’; expressive works on ceramic cast dolls. Work continues on the theme with a beautiful range of mixed media paintings influenced by the eclectic nature of life in Brighton. Artists also explore the delicate nature of encaustic art and glass sculptural assemblage artworks.

SAM CATCHPOLE 6 August – 9 September Beauty in the Mundane, a photography exhibition by Samantha Catchpole. Enter a world full of hidden pictures, a world full of repeating patterns and overlooked details. Pictures found amongst the railings outside a building, in the patterns of the bars on a window or the beautiful dereliction of forgotten industry. A mixture of black and white and colour photographs that celebrate beauty in unexpected places, they challenge you to see every day and unloved objects in a new light.
