Patient Profile:

RUSSELL & KIM COCHRAN Russell Cochran is one of our local patients from Banks County who was recently diagnosed for the second time with throat cancer. This second diagnosis has been a struggle, both financially and emotionally, for Russell and his wife, Kim. After the diagnosis, Russell and Kim decided to talk to their doctor’s office about any financial assistance and learned about The Cancer Foundation (TCF) which helped them by paying their power bill and giving gas cards to get to and from treatment. Kim says, “We are very pleased with our experience. We didn’t want to ask for help despite our struggle, but feel like the people at the foundation made us comfortable in getting help.” She stressed the kindness of the people working to support their needs and that they are so appreciative of the fact that the foundation acted quickly. Russell and Kim received this “gift,” as Kim calls the foundation’s assistance, “at just the right time.” “The holidays were just around the corner and this aid helped to relieve some of their holiday stress.” Through the foundation, Kim said they have had the opportunity to meet so many very nice people, including others who are also living with cancer and those who are working and volunteering for The Cancer Foundation. They would not change a thing about The Cancer Foundation and they encourage others to donate to the foundation because it is a very worthy cause. Once Russell’s treatment is behind them, Russell and Kim hope to contribute to The Cancer Foundation.

Why We Donate

We have chosen to support The Cancer Foundation because cancer has touched both the community and us personally. The Cancer Foundation is such a benefit for those going through cancer treatment as well as their loved ones. Therefore we feel strongly that there is no other cause more worthy to support than The Cancer Foundation.” – Gisela Hodgson, owner Fitness @ Five
