TRI TO BEAT CANCER

SPRINT TRIATHLON DUATHLON AQUA BIKE 5K

About Tri to Beat Cancer The tenth annual Tri to Beat Cancer sprint triathlon, duathlon, aqua bike and 5K will take place on Sunday, August 18th at Sandy Creek Park. Expecting 500 – 550 participants and 200 volunteers, USA Triathlon, the governing body of the triathlon sport, sanctions this event, heightening the participation of more serious and competitive athletes. Tri to Beat Cancer is presented by Georgia Crown, University Cancer & Blood Center, Hodgson & Hodgson, LLC, Cable East, Inc, and Hughes Subaru.

Parking!

All race participants, volunteers, and spectators MUST be in Sandy Creek Park by 6:30 AM on Sunday, August 18th. The park's entrance/exit gate will be closed for the duration of the race. Do NOT park along Bob Holman Road--it is private property! If you need to leave the park early, tell the front gate parking attendants and they will direct you to park in the early departure parking lot.

All event proceeds benefit northeast Georgia cancer patients.

Tri Hero: D.D. Quillian

D.D. Quillian has competed in Tri to Beat Cancer since 2012, but has participated in triathlons since 1986.

" Tri to Beat Cancer is a great race for 1st time triathletes. It has a time trial swim start as opposed to a wave start, and a short swim leg and a fast run course. For these reasons there are many 1st time competitors in the field. It is nice how helpful all the seasoned competitors and volunteers are to the new racers. For sure, there are serious racers there, and the competition can be fierce but everyone seems to help any way that they can. It is really a lot of fun."
