SPONSORSHIP PACKET 2019

Dear Sponsor, 2019 marks the 10th anniversary of The Cancer Foundation’s Cocktails and Tri to Beat Cancer –Sprint Triathlon. 2019 also marks the 10th year of our Financial Assistance Program. Since January of 2009 The Cancer Foundation has been committed to the mission to help alleviate the financial burden of cancer for eligible patients and their families. Cocktails, our largest fundraiser will take place on Saturday, February 23rd at a new location, Stegeman Coliseum, where over 500 guests will enjoy a premium Georgia Crown open bar, dinner, desserts; jewelry, wine and liquor raffles; and exclusive silent and live auction items. Tri to Beat Cancer- Sprint Triathlon will take place on Sunday, August 18th, and we expect a minimum of 600 participants, in addition to the many spectators and 200 volunteers who also participate. Proceeds from Cocktails and Tri to Beat Cancer Sprint Triathlon not only helps patients in Athens, but all over northeast Georgia. Sponsoring shows our community that you believe no cancer patient must choose between lifesaving treatment and basic life needs. Since 2009, the Foundation has provided over $1.7 million to 2,950 cancer patients living in northeast Georgia who are struggling to pay for basic life needs. Your support is more important now than ever before. Cancer has touched all of our lives. Join us in making a difference for patients living in our community. Together, we can make our 10th anniversary the grandest year yet! On behalf of The Cancer Foundation, I thank you for considering sponsorship.

I never would have been able to make it to all of my treatments without the wonderful help with the gas cards." J. Each time we go to our appointment it is over an hour away." E. Nichols Thyroid Cancer Patient “Thank you so much! I have to rely on others for transportation. About  The Cancer Foundation Who We Are The Cancer Foundation is a local 501(c)3 nonprofit that provides emergency financial assistance for basic life needs like housing, utilities, food and medications. The ultimate goal of The Cancer Foundation is to provide emergency monetary assistance to cancer patients living in northeast Georgia.

Our Mission The Cancer Foundation is a nonprofit organization whose mission is to help alleviate the financial burden of cancer for eligible patients.

Our Vision To eradicate the financial hardship for all northeast Georgia residents who are diagnosed with cancer.

Why We Were FoundedÂ

The physicians of University Cancer & Blood Center, LLC founded The Cancer Foundation in 2005 after treating a growing number of patients in need of financial assistance. When someone is diagnosed with cancer, the entire family suffers, not just emotionally, but also financially. Thus, the Financial Assistance Program helps alleviate a cancer patient’s immediate financial crisis and the debilitating stress that stems from their diagnosis. The Cancer Foundation wants to improve the quality of life for cancer patients living in our community.
