Thank you for volunteering at Tri to Beat Cancer 2018! ABOUT THE CANCER FOUNDATION (TCF): The Cancer Foundation is a nonprofit organization whose mission is to help alleviate the financial burden of cancer for eligible patients.
WHY SHOULD YOU COME TO THE VOLUNTEER MEETING ON AUGUST 18TH? Get your t-shirt! Meet the chair of your committee. Learn the details of your volunteer station. Ask questions! Meet over 200 of your fellow volunteers!

IMPORTANT TIPS: Volunteer shirts are a safety pink color. Bring sunglasses and apply sunscreen. Wear comfortable shoes. Bring a flashlight to the race. It is very dark in the morning. Take pictures and tag us on Facebook or Instagram! Use #tri2beatcancer2018 Sandy Creek Park has one entrance/exit. For racer safety, volunteers are not permitted to leave the park until the race is finished. After your job is finished, stick around and cheer on the racers as they finish! Emergency phone numbers are on the back of name tags.

FUN FACTS ABOUT THE TRI & THE CANCER FOUNDATION: Tri to Beat Cancer has raised more than $736,000 over the past 8 years! This total has helped over 1,400 cancer patients! Each year, Tri to Beat Cancer has over 200 volunteers & 500 athletes! This event is not possible without you. Tri to Beat Cancer is the 3rd largest sprint triathlon in Georgia! Proceeds from the Tri help cancer patients pay for emergency financial assistance for basic life needs like housing, utilities, food and medications. The Cancer Foundation serves 19 counties in northeast Georgia. TCF has given over $1.4 million to 2,800 patients since 2009. Patients and survivors participate in the Tri every year!

QUESTIONS RACERS MAY ASK YOU: Where do I get my t-shirt? -- Racers can get their t-shirts at the main pavilion after the race. What type of start is the race? --It is a staggered time trial start. Where do I get my chip? --Designated tent near transition entrance. What is T1 & T2? --Transition 1 is swim to bike or run to bike. Transition 2 is bike to run.
