2017 2017
About The Cancer Foundation Our Mission The Cancer Foundation is a nonprofit organization whose mission is to help alleviate the financial burden of cancer for eligible patients.
Our Vision To eradicate the financial hardship for all northeast Georgia residents who are diagnosed with cancer.
Who We Are The Cancer Foundation (TCF) is a local 501(c)3 nonprofit that provides emergency financial assistance for basic life needs such as housing, utilities, food and medications. The ultimate goal of TCF is to provide emergency monetary assistance to cancer patients living in northeast Georgia.
Why We2017 Were Founded
The physicians of University Cancer & Blood Center, LLC founded TCF in 2005 after treating a growing number of patients in need of financial assistance. When someone is diagnosed with cancer, the entire family suffers, not just emotionally, but also financially. Thus, the Financial Assistance Program helps alleviate a cancer patient’s immediate financial crisis and the debilitating stress that stems from their diagnosis. TCF wants to improve the quality of life for cancer patients living in our community.

Welcome to the Cancer Foundation’s annual fundraising event, Cocktails. In celebration of our ninth year, and being overjoyed at the support we have received from everyone, this year’s theme is “On Cloud Nine.” We are grateful for your attendance at tonight’s event. Proceeds from Cocktails benefits The Cancer Foundation’s mission to help alleviate the financial burden of cancer for patients living in our community.
This event would not happen without the sponsors and businesses who kindly donated items for our live and silent auctions, and the attendees and raffle ticket purchasers whose efforts helped make this evening a great success. We continue to be amazed at the amount of excitement Cocktails generates year after year. We are honored to have the continuous support of Premier sponsors Georgia Crown, Don and Suzanne Leebern, Dan and Diane Davis and John and Susan Barrett. As well as our Patron sponsors Hodgson and Hodgson, PPI Way, and University Cancer & Blood Center. Due to these sponsors, and so many others, we’ve been able to provide over $1.4 million of financial assistance to more than 2,600 cancer patients. Our patients thank you, too:

“I can't thank you enough for your kindness! I had no idea how I was going to take care of everything. If you hadn't made those payments, I'd have had to stop [treatment]. God bless you all.” – Multiple myeloma cancer patient Finally, a deeply heartfelt thank you to our Special Event Coordinator, Haley Avery, and the 2018 Cocktails Committee for their dedication, creativity and resourcefulness in making Cocktails “On Cloud Nine” a night to remember. Kindly,
Executive Director
