J. Casey Soward, Executive Director of The Cabot J. Casey Soward is the Executive Director of The Cabot, having been named to the position in 2015. Prior to joining The Cabot, Casey worked in leadership positions for a variety of performing arts organizations, educational institutions, and theaters, beginning his career working on the stage crew at the historic Orpheum Theatre and in Boston when he was a student at Berklee College of Music. The Cabot wouldn’t have been able to reach 100 years without Casey’s leadership and passion for sharing the arts with the North Shore community and beyond. Anna Rossi, Emmy Award winning Lifestyle Host and TV Personality Anna brings an authentic connection to food, travel and the art of gathering to viewers. As a network talent, food writer & recipe developer, brand ambassador, and spokesperson, her work is immersive and inviting. From an early kick off on reality TV on MasterChef USA, she is now a decorated home cook with original recipes featured around the country. Well fed, and with a passion for design and travel, she is based on the North Shore with her husband and two adorable kids.

The Cabot’s doors may be shut to the public, but inside, a whirlwind of activity has been taking place. We have taken advantage of the shutdown forced by the pandemic to work on the final phases of the Cabot 100 Capital Campaign. What can you expect to see when you return? • A fully rehabilitated historic rose window. Step inside and be transported to the magical grandeur of a 1920s movie palace. During the course of renovation, we discovered antique movie poster cases and other preserved theater ephemera, and uncovered the ornate moulding and rose marble that had been covered up by more recent plastering. Thanks to a grant from the Citizens of Beverly through the Community Preservation Act, all of these amazing details will be lovingly preserved and made visible for future generations. • Updates to our stage rigging. In order to host larger scale productions, we plan to upgrade the grid structure and modernize our stage rigging system. • Keeping patrons safe with added air flow. We are working with an engineer to develop plans to add Bi-Polar Ionization to the theater’s Heating, Ventilation, and Air Conditioning system. Our system already allows for fresh air flow throughout the building, but this further step is aimed at ensuring we are doing everything we can to keep our patrons safe when the time comes that we are able to reopen to the public.
