““During the opening and closing of the Lodge, the Senior Warden says in the elaboration of his duty, "that none may go away dissatisfied, harmony being the strength and support of all societies especially of ours. This injunction recognizes that Masons are men of various beliefs, persuasions, and creeds. These differences could create conflicts, for each would naturally stand firm by his own personal convictions. The hope for a unifying force that can unite us is our adherence to the tenets of brotherly love, relief, and truth- principles that cannot be in conflict with whatever dogmatic creed anyone embraces. And in order to give strength and support to this unity, each one is encouraged to be lenient in the treatment of his brother, understanding our differences, and accepting those traits that instead of separating us, should instead unite us into a new relationship built upon the blending together of differences. That is what HARMONY does! Harmony puts and blends together seeming differences. This can most effectively be done when one tones down his opinions and preferences, and listens to the voice of others, accepts the differences, and tries to harmonize the various facets of the situations into a better and more beautiful new idea. In common parlance, this can be achieved thru the "give and take" procedure. I believe that such is the nature of the term "HARMONY". Harmony fulfills and sustains us. Indeed, "Harmony is the Strength and Support of Philippine Masonry"
