Talavera Masonic Lodge No. 273 distributes Milk & Bread on its 34th Anniversary

Last June 20 at 9 AM –the brethren of Talavera 273 led by their WM Alfred L. Domingo, travelled through the outer and inner roads of Brgy. La Torre –home of their Masonic Lodge to distribute nutrition to the ‘’young ones’’ and ‘’once young’’ members of the community.

The Outreach Project with the event slogan “GATAS NA MASUSTANSIYA, PANLABAN SA PANDEMYA” was done in humble celebration of the lodge’s 34th Charter Anniversary. It benefited 1,620 individuals. 1,100 children below 7 years old each received 100 mL Nefedco Carabao’s Milk –a locally produced brand and Nutribun Bread –a product of Talavera Cooperative. While 520 Senior Citizens received 300 gms of Bear Brand Sterilized Milk each. The milk was procured through a special fund raised by the Brethren for the event while the bread was donated by Ateng Mayor Nerivi Santos-Martinez.

Beneficiaries were identified in coordination with Chairman Erwin Chioco and other Barangay Officials. Distribution of goods was done in accordance with established Social Distancing procedures, whereby would be recipients stay inside their homes, Gift Stubs posted on monoblock chairs in front of their gates or houses, where bread and milk are generously placed by the passing Brethren. In return, Talavera 273’s neighbors expressed their gratitude by clapping, waving and saying “maraming salamat po mga Kuyang”.

The Master of the Lodge was grateful of the full support of the Brethren with the lodge’s undertaking during the COVID-19 Pandemic. “The smiles of the senior elders and young kids of Barangay La Torre, Talavera, Nueva Ecija benefiting from our activity is a gauge of the successful celebration of our 34th Anniversary” he added.

The SW Nerito Santos, Jr., echoed WM Alfred’s sentiments and encourage everyone to continue supporting the Lodge’s future undertakings.

JW Bro Esteban Nicanor Domingo, for his part, being the “silent listener” but the “action man on the block” bowed to keep the brethren “up their feet” in every activity of Talavera 273.

Of the Lodge and its Officers

The Lodge was constituted in 21 June 1986 by MW Reynold S. Fajardo after the Grand lodge granted its charter during the Annual Communications 3 months earlier. This 2020, the brethren chose to celebrate a day before. The 3rd Saturday being the schedule of their Regular Stated Meetings.

Ateng Mayor Nerivi Santos-Martinez is the widow to the late Brother Marvin Martinez – the lodge’s past SW who dropped his working tools last March 14. She is also the sibling of the incumbent Senior Warden and the Brother-In-Law of the Junior Warden. Both Worshipful Master and JW are also Siblings.
