EVENTS WRAP UP UAE | KSA | KUWAIT

The events season in the Middle East has come to a close for the summer and what a season it has been! Our events team across the GCC in UAE, KSA and Kuwait have worked tirelessly over the last 6 months to execute countless events across a variety of industries including sports, music, culture, and festivals recognized on both a national and global scale.

The sports events were in full swing in Kuwait at the start of the season in October 2021, with the Triathlon XII held at Kuwait Bay, Green Island, which saw thousands of athletes travel from all over the world to compete. Byrne provided power generation on site for the event as well as temporary buildings. Following on from this, November saw the biggest marathon Kuwait has ever hosted for which we supplied a range of mixed equipment inclusive of Power Generation, Ablutions and Cabin Offices.

Kuwait also hosted the Aquabike World Championships 2021 and the Red Bull Bar Bahr 2021, for which our team delivered and installed a range of power generation, lighting towers and sanitation units as well as temporary buildings for security, ticket booths, offices and event storage.

November and December 2021 was a busy period in particular for our events teams; with prominent sporting events across the board including some of the most recognized events in the world that have taken place across the GCC such as the Formula 1 in Jeddah in December and Dubai Rugby 7's for which we successfully delivered and installed power generation, temporary buildings, and sanitation including regular and VIP ablutions units.

We also catered to the renowned Dubai Airshow as well as industry recognized music events such as MDL Beast Music Festival in Riyadh and MOTN festival in Abu Dhabi. December was also host to a number of charitable events which we were honored to be involved in such as The Flying Start UAE CleanUp in Sharjah which was a huge success with a turnout of 12,000 volunteers.

Kicking off 2022, our team in the UAE were kept busy with a number of music events in Dubai Media City including best-selling Middle Eastern Artist, Amr Diab. Not to be outdone in the month of January, our events team in Kuwait supplied equipment to the largest food event in Kuwait at Wahran Park – Alshamiya, providing power of 1500kVA across the site during the 3 day event and our team in KSA supplied ablution units and showers for the many teams competing in the infamous Dakar Rally which took place between Jeddah to Riyadh.

The momentum continued into February, kicking off with the UAE Tour - the one and only world tour race in the Middle East, as well as a number of events at EXPO 2020 site with equipment supplied from our EXPO on-site depot. We supplied equipment to a number of the country pavilions for their National Day celebrations, including Israel for which the team installed and delivered power, sanitation and cabins to an extremely tight deadline. Our hard work was recognized through fantastic feedback from the client.

Across the sand, our team in Saudi were busy kicking off the month of February with the Formula E – a successful event in Saudi Arabia for the season opener of Formula E World Championship, Diriyah. The Byrne KSA team delivered and installed full sanitation services for the weekend event, from VIP and People of Determination ablution units to water and sewage management.

It didn’t stop there and in March our team in UAE were busy with the Dubai World Cup pre-event for VVIP’s of the racing industry. Byrne provided a range of equipment solutions from cabins and sanitation units to full power and lighting across the site at Meydan Racecourse.

It’s safe to say it has been a busy season for all of Byrne’s events teams across the GCC and we are looking forward to what 2022 has in store when the season starts back again. We have a lot of exciting events in the pipeline and looking forward to a busy year and beyond.
