Important: Emergency descent must be carried out by authorized trained personnel or authorized appointed driver by customer.

Emergency Descent Procedure for MC450 Only if the work platform stopped on certain height due to a power failure or any other electric and mechanical failure, the trained personnel can carried out an emergency descent procedure as following: 1.
Find the emergency lower system beside the drive unit on the platform, and there is a brake release handle in it:
2. Open the emergency lower system cover and find the brake release handle as follow picture.

3. Pull the brake handle slowly and the wire rope will active the level on motor which permits brake release and work platform starting lowering.
4. The work platform will lower down, make sure descent speed can’t exceed the rated running speed, otherwise the safety device brake will be automatically operate with consequent stop of the working platform.

5. Operate brake release handle slowly and make sure the descent speed only 1/3 of normal speed, and stop at least 2 minute every 5 meters so that the brake have time to cool down. Otherwise the brake will down.
6. Lower the work platform to the base and make sure the final limit switch is not activated and call for authorized personnel for troubleshooting. Note: If the final limit switch activated during emergency descend, authorized panel can drive up the platform by use by-pass switch on M-panel or use drop test remote controller to drive up the work platform.
7. After solve the problem, should be check the brake function according to the manual, and check the brake torque is 80 N.M or not. If not check the brake disc (minimum 6.4mm) and air gap (minimum 0.25mm), change a new brake disc if needed, refer to manual chapter 9.4.1.

8. Also check the safety device function, do a drop test according to the manual chapter 7.7.
9. For the two-mast configuration, the emergency lower system must be operated by two authorized personnel simultaneously and a clear system must be agreed between them.
10. Check the brake release wire rope after carry out emergency descend, make sure it is always function.
