A NEW CHAPTER AT BYRNE The Byrne group plans ahead Like many companies The Byrne Group are planning ahead, optimistic that 2021 will be a year where we can continue to emerge from the COVID-19 period and redefine a clear path forward. A large part of that is focused on navigating through the visible changes and challenges we face in our markets and with that in mind, we`re looking at optimizing our operational and process efficiencies, while maintaining visibility on our medium-term growth objectives. Byrne has continued to grow and evolve over the years and our intention is to build on that success. Now as we enter a new era , the Board have agreed that to attain such a goal they considered it prudent that the roles of the Chief Executive Officer and the Chairman of the Group are separated. Against that background, effective 31st December 2020, Hamad S. Al Sulaiman relinquished his position as Group Chief Executive Officer while retaining his position as Chairman of the Group. Rorce Au Yeung, currently CEO of Vpower Group and a Director on the Byrne Board, will assume the role and responsibilities of Chief Executive Officer of the Byrne Group. Rorce a lawyer by professional training with an education in accounting and a background of various executive posts in Asia for Intel, Exxon Chemical, Waste Management and the French group Veolia. Hamad reflected on his tenure as CEO saying “It has been my pleasure and privilege to work alongside the Byrne Group employees and I would like to take this opportunity to thank them all for the support, hard work and loyalty they have shown to this great Company. The success of the business is a testament to all their hard work and dedication. Being a substantial investor and Chairman of the Group, I know our business has a bright future - a future which brings with it wonderful opportunities for both the Company and its people.” Rorce commented “like Hamad, I am tremendously excited about the opportunity we have at the Byrne Group to build a truly world class organisation committed to excellence in everything we do.” As part of the transition, two key senior management personnel are assisting Rorce with the transformation process - Pat Fallon a familiar figure in the Byrne business over the past 26 years, returns to take up the position of Deputy CEO, while Quentin Lo has been appointed Chief Strategy Officer. Pat commented “I am delighted to once again be part of the Byrne management team led by our incoming CEO Rorce Au Yeung. As Deputy CEO, I’m looking forward to supporting and assisting Rorce and more widely working closely with the groups management and their teams across the region.” Quentin added “The key to the success of the Byrne Group is the teams of people whose hard work, dedication and commitment has brought the Byrne Group to its current point, and who we are now pulling together to take the business forward into what they hope will be brighter days. We have the infrastructure in place to carry on and to continue to grow as a business, confident that our clients and staff will all benefit from the growth they achieve together.
