Armistice Day
The usual moving commemoration event which the College holds each year on Remembrance Day was not possible this year due to Covid restrictions, but College was determined not to let this important occasion pass without being marked. A humble display of appropriate reflections along with a poppy wreath was shown at Reception, then on Wednesday 11 November 2020, John Snow College paused to remember all those who have died through war and conflict throughout the years. The two minutes silence at 11am was proceeded by the Vice-Principal citing the Exhortation which is an excerpt from Binyon’s poem “For the Fallen” followed by the sounding of the Last Post played by first year student Abi Kaye. The silence was broken by Abi sounding Reveille then the VP reciting the words from the Kohima Epitaph. A simple but poignant act of remembrance.
