MISSION DRIVEN | FOCUSED ON IMPACT | RECOGNIZED For more than 50 years, Brighton has been providing critical services to young children with disabilities and delays. Founded in 1969 as a school by parents of children with Down syndrome, Brighton Center has evolved into the largest nonprofit in San Antonio providing direct therapy services to babies and toddlers, offering 2 inclusive early childhood education centers and special education advocacy services. Mission driven and focused on holistic impact, Brighton has been recognized consistently for our results oriented approach and our service and cultural excellence.

Research shows that the right help at the right time can change the trajectory of a child's life. Brighton's programs and services exist to provide 'the right help at the right time' to children with disabilities and delays to create meaningful and lasting change. At each major developmental milestone, Brighton is there to help children reach their full potential while empowering parents to play an active role in their child's growth and success.

HOW WE HELP KIDS THERAPY | EDUCATION | ADVOCACY | TRAININGS Kids with disabilities and developmental delays start out life at a disadvantage. Whether they were born early, born into an environment that lacks stimulation or with a diagnosed disability, they start life behind their peers. Brighton provides the right help, at the right time, with the right services, to give children with disabilities and delays the best possible start in life!
Brighton's Services HOME-BASED THERAPY
Ages 0-3
Brighton's home-based therapy services provides speech, occupational, and physical therapy as well as case management services for more than 1,800 babies and toddlers with a disability or developmental delay every year throughout Bexar County.
Brighton is working to expand its home-based therapy services to site based therapy services for older children with disabilities and developmental delays. Scheduled to open 2021, this on-site therapy program will support the development of 500 children every year at its main location on Higgins Rd.

EARLY CHILDHOOD EDUCATION

Brighton operates two inclusive Early Childhood Education Centers (Monte Vista and Northeast) to prepare children of all abilities for Kindergarten. This nationally accredited program (NAEYC) educates 140 children ever year.
Brighton understands that a child's parents are pivotal to their success now and in the future. That is why Brighton provides free training's to parents who have a child with a disability or is struggling in school, empowering them to understand the education laws that can support their child and provide them with every opportunity they need to graduate high school. More than 400 parents receive training from Brighton annually.
ADVOCACY SUPPORT Ages K-8th
PARENT WORKSHOPS
Brighton provides one-on-one support to parents of children with disabilities or delays that are struggling in school. Brighton Advocates will go with parents to meetings with the schools and help ensure an appropriate education plan is in place to set that child up for a successful future. Brighton's Advocacy Team hosts more than 250 Pre-ARD Sessions with parents and attends over 200 ARD Meetings with parents and schools annually.
Brighton is working to start a series of Out of School Programs that will operate after school and during the summer for children with disabilities and delays. The series will concentrate on specific skills that children with disabilities struggle with like handwriting, social skills, etc. Scheduled to open in 2021, these programs are expected to serve about 250 children annually.

FUNDRAISING EVENTS Brighton hosts 4 major fundraising events every year to help raise the funds needed to support the organization. Each of these events requires event committee members, sponsors and volunteers to be successful! This official Fiesta event features 6 live bands, 60+ restaurants, and a variety of high end beer, wine and spirit tastings raising over $700,000 for Brighton annually. The Big Give is an annual online giving campaign that is promoted throughout the city of San Antonio. Brighton has raised over $100k in one day through the Big Give making this a major fundraising initaitive for the organization! Held in the fall every year at the Club at Sonterra, this golf tournament features a bloody mary breakfast station, on course games, live auction and more! This events raises $60,000 for Brighton annually. Held in November every year at the Mays Family Center at the Witte, this gala truly is the Best Night Ever! This event raises $340,000 for Brighton annually.

Brighton Center hosts 3 major events every year that help the organization raise the funds they need to keep services running. These events include: Taste of the Northside Fiesta Event (April), Blessings for Brighton Golf Tournament (August) and Best Night Ever Fundraising Gala (November). As a sponsor to any of these events you can expect to have a fun experience where you can promote your brand, entertain clients or reward employees all while helping Brighton raise critical funds.
JOIN AN EVENT COMMITTEE! Brighton Center's annual Blessings for Brighton Golf Tournament (August) and Best Night Ever Fundraising Gala (November) are both run by special event committees. These groups of volunteers work alongside Brighton Center staff to recruit sponsors, auction items and to help with the overall direction of the event theme and program. The time commitment is minimal and the reward is great for members of our Special Event Committees!
DONATE AN AUCTION ITEM FOR BRIGHTON'S ANNUAL GALA, BEST NIGHT EVER! At Brighton's Best Night Ever Fundraising Gala (November) our auction items play a huge role in our fundraising ability! Items like sports memorabilia, vacation homes, airfare points, hunting trips, shopping certificates, etc., always do really well at our auctions! If you have access to some or any of these items, consider donating them to Brighton to help us create a successful auction at our next gala event!

SELL YOUR COMPANY'S FIESTA MEDALS AND MAKE BRIGHTON A BENEFACTOR! San Antonio is unique in that every year the entire city likes to celebrate Fiesta! Some companies even create their own Fiesta medal to help celebrate the occasion. Rather than giving them out during Fiesta, consider selling them for a small fee and donating the proceeds back to Brighton. Some company's that already do this for Brighton include H-E-B and UPS!
HAVE YOUR COMPANY SUPPORT BRIGHTON DURING THE BIG GIVE! The Big Give is an online giving campaign for San Antonio that takes place the last Thursday in March every year. Brighton participates in the Big Give and each year tries to raise $50k+ through this day of giving. Consider getting your company involved with this day of giving and working as a group to support Brighton during the Big Give!

INTERVENTION SPECIALISTS
Brighton's Intervention Specialists work hand in hand with the therapist team to deliver on various interventions. Intervention Specialists also act as Case Managers and aid the children and families that we work with in getting connected with other resources in the community that might be able to provide support to their family.
Brighton has a highly qualified team of teachers that are well trained in a Nationally Accredited Center that supports both children with disabilities/delays and without. They provide a high quality and inclusive environment that adequately prepares every child for Kindergarten.

Mrs. Jefferies has been with Brighton since 2000 and the CEO since 2006. She holds a Bachelors of Education from UTSA as well a Master’s Degree in Nonprofit Management from Our Lady of the Lake University. In addition Mrs. Jefferies achieved her certification in Nonprofit Leadership from Harvard's Kennedy School for Excellence in Education.
