About the Board Committees Executive Committee: Provides guidance and direction for the Board of Directors, support to the CEO and is the place of ultimate responsibility for governance. Finance Committee: Provides oversight of the organization’s financial health, including the investment, audit, finance and financial reporting functions of the organization. Board Development Committee: Ensures the Board membership is diverse, informed, provided with the appropriate resources and meets bylaw requirements, and is responsible for recruiting new board members, Resource Development Committee: Act as the liaison between Brighton Center fundraising department and Board of Directors and hold the Board of Directors accountable to their annual fundraising commitment.

LYNETTE PADALECKI, Board Chair
Lynette Padalecki is the Chief Analytics Officer for H-E-B. Lynette joined H-E-B in 1995 and has held numerous leadership positions in Finance, currently leading a group of over 100 professionals providing analytical support across the organization. She is a Certified Public Accountant, previously employed with Ernst & Young and Valero Energy Corporation. Lynette graduated from Saint Mary’s University with a BBA in accounting. She is also a graduate of the Harvard Business School Advanced Management Program. In addition to Lynette's Board Member service at Brighton she has also served at the East Central Independent School District Bond Committee and Mays Business School - Texas A&M University Corporate Finance Board Member Since 2016 Board. She is the former United Way Chair for H-E-B and past Chair /current board member of the Valero Alamobowl. Lynette is married to Dwayne and has two grown sons.
BLAKE STRIBLING, Vice Chair
Blake Stribling is a Partner at Pepping | Stribling. Blake graduated Summa Cum Laude as the Valedictorian from St. Mary’s University School of Law after receiving his undergraduate degree from Texas State University. Blake served a judicial intern for both the Honorable Xavier Rodriguez, US District Court for the Western District of Texas and the Honorable Justice Karen Angelini, 4th Court of Appeals of Texas in addition to serving as the Associate Editor of the St. Mary’s Law Journal. Blake has been recognized as a Texas Rising Star, Business Litigation by Thomson Reuters and as a Rising Star by SA Scene Magazine. Blake commits a significant amount of his time to represent less fortunate client on a pro bono basis and routinely handles family law matters in connection with the Community Justice Board Member Since 2016 Program. Blake is married to Brittney and has a son Jack and a daughter Grace.

Meriel Bowman is a Senior Manager of Talent Acquisition & Talent Management for Zachry Group. Meriel graduated from the University of Richmond with a Bachelor of Arts and her professional designations include Professional in Human Resources (PHR) from the Human Resources Certification Institute and Society for Human Resources Management Certified Professional (SHRM-CP). Meriel was introduced to the Brighton Center during her time as a United Way Loaned Executive in 2012 and became intimately familiar with Brighton's programs when her son, Townsend, was diagnosed with Sensory Processing Disorder, Hypotonia and Global Developmental Delay at 14 months. The Bowman family has been impressed with Brighton’s Monte Vista Early Childhood Education Center and Special Education Support Services. Meriel is married to Forrest and together they have two small sons: Townsend & Anderson.
JUSTIN THOMPSON, Treasurer
Justin is a Senior Manager IT Audit with Valero Energy Corporation. Justin has a B.B.A in Management Information Systems and M.S. in Computer Information Systems from St. Mary’s University. Justin’s professional designations include a Certified Information Systems Auditor (CISA) and Certification in Risk Management Assurance (CRMA). Justin’s nonprofit board responsibilities began during 2007 while serving on the board of local professional organizations (positions included Treasurer, Vice President, and President). Additionally, he successfully applied for and started a nonprofit 501c3 corporation during 2009 to raise money for college scholarships for students with a financial need (raising over $80K for St. Mary’s University). Justin comes from a family of educators and licensed therapists who treat kids with Board Member Since 2016 disabilities; therefore, he understands the need in the community for these services and became involved with Brighton to help support and promote their mission. Justin is married to Tiffany and together they have 2 children.

April Ancira is the VP of Ancira Auto Group and oversees the operations of 11 Franchised Auto stores. She has San Antonio Roots, having attending HS at Saint Mary's Hall, Received her Bachelor of Science in Marketing and Finance from Trinity University, and her Master’s in Business from UTSA. She has worked in the car business since 1997 in every facet from being an operator and cashier to selling cars and trucks on the front line. April sits on 10 boards (8 philanthropic and Academic, and 2 in her field of Business. They have 2 children, Hope (5) and Gunnar (7), and a dog Gracie. April has a pilot's license, has done standup comedy, and loves to participate in Iron Mans. April is married to Jason and together they have two small children: Gunnar and Hope.

Mario Garcia is a United States Air Force Veteran who is currently working for UPS as an International Account Executive. and then came on as full time UPS employee in 2006. Mario is currently a Co-Chair for the UPS Hispanic Business Relations Group, United Way Leadership Giver, co-ordinate UPS volunteer events in San Antonio (i.e. King Williams Fair, Taste of Northside, Food Bank), and supports the UPS Talent Acquisition Group in speaking to local Universities and schools. Mario graduated from the University of Texas at San Antonio with a Bachelors in Education. Mario’s free time he enjoys playing golf, softball, coaching my son’s baseball teams, spending time with his family and volunteering at Brighton! Mario is married to Kimberly and has two sons: Gavin and Jakob.
RAMON HERNANDEZ

Ramon Hernandez is currently a Director of Marketing at a Fortune 500 Insurance Company. He manages a team of 10 employees and multiple lines of business. Prior to joining his current company in 2012, he worked in the advertising industry on new business acquisitions and creating national advertising campaigns for major brands. He has led the successful execution of complex projects across the U.S. and Latin markets for brands like JC Penny, US Army, Payless Shoe Source, Church’s Chicken, and Dr. Pepper and maintained their budgeting expectations to reach company goals. Ramon has traveled to India to train support teams and set up a center to meet high level security requirements and Costa Rica to assess that vendors are following set guidelines and delivery high level output. He has also taught English as a second language to adults through a community program. Ramon earned a Bachelor of Business Administration in marketing from the University of the Incarnate Word. Ramon is married to Hugo.

Steve Lyons is the Senior Director of Business Development for Skanska, an international construction company. Steve holds a Bachelor’s in Business Administration in Finance from the University of Texas. Locally the Steve works with clients such as Alamo Colleges, North East ISD, the US Army Corps of Engineers, Methodist Hospital (HCA), USAA and Spurs Sports & Entertainment. In addition to his involvement with Brighton , Steve has served on the boards of directors for the Society of Marketing Professional Services and the Society of American Military Engineers in the past. Steve got involved with Brighton because he has a cousin that has a special needs son. Seeing the challenges that family’s face with children of special needs became personal once saw his cousin’s family and he wanted to make a difference in San Antonio. Steve is married to Summer and together they have 2 children Chase and Caroline.
ELIZABETH GREEHEY-MARCEAU

Elizabeth has a background in nonprofit fundraising previously serving as the Vice President of Development for American Heart Association. In this role, she managed the rganization’s largest event, the Dallas Heart Walk, which grossed over $4 million annually. Elizabeth also worked to engage volunteer leadership and activate sponsorships to elevate event fundraising across the Southwest Region. She was born and raised in San Antonio and enjoys giving back to the San Antonio community that has given her so much. In addition to her involvement with Brighton Center, Elizabeth serves on the board of the Gus Owens Stephens Foundation, as an executive officer of Howard Early Childhood Center’s PTO, as an active volunteer for The DoSeum, and as a Bible Study Fellowship leader. She graduated Summa Cum Laude from Vanderbilt University with a double major in Economics and Human and Organizational Development. Elizabeth is married to Madison and together they have three children: Kaki, Gracie and Clay.
LEANN TREJO

LeAnn is a Vice President with American Funds from Capital Group and is responsible for Client Services in San Antonio. She holds a Bachelor’s in Organizational Development from the University of the Incarnate Word. Previous to her current role, LeAnn was a Vice President in North American Distribution responsible for leading business to business sales teams and operations in San Antonio and Indianapolis. She has 19 years of industry experience and is actively involved in various education based community activities including being an active student mentor at her alma mater Business Careers high school. LeAnn got involved with Brighton because not only is she passionate about education for all children, but she has seen first-hand what early and consistent intervention can mean for children with all abilities and wants to make a difference in San Antonio. LeAnn is married Kristopher and together they have three children: Ethan, Jonah, and JuLeAnna.
GERRY SOTO

Gerardo Soto is the Credit Manager at NuStar Energy LP and also served 9 years in the US Army Reserves achieving the rank of Staff Sergeant and served one tour from 2003 to 2005 in support of Operation Iraqi Freedom. Gerry holds a B.B.A. in Corporate Finance from St. Mary’s University and an M.B.A. in Business from UTSA. Gerry became involved with Brighton in 2010 after becoming familiar with Brighton while his daughter attended their early childhood education program. Gerry has previously served as a board member for the Gary J. Thompson Memorial Scholarship Fund which has an endowed fund at St. Mary’s University providing financial assistance to select students. Gerry is married to Dalia and together they have three children.

Brighton Center's Board Member Focus Board Members play a significant role in helping Brighton Center GROW. Board Members can help grow our awareness, grow our connections and grow our funding to position ouselves to be successful and sustaining beyond the current year. Our Board Members are powerful members of our team and play a significant role in helping us GROW and thus there have been annual commitments set in place by the Board to ensure that all Board Members are doing their part in helping the Brighotn Center GROW this current fiscal year and beyond!

All Board Members are asked to financially support Brighton at a personally signficant level as well as secure annual donations so that a minimum of $10,000 is given/raised per Board Member.
R is for "Raising Support" 1. We ask that each Board Member supports as many of Brighton's Fundraising events as possible by either attending the event and/or securing donations to an event. 2. We ask that each Board Member act as a Board Champion for either Blessings or Best Night Ever. Brighton's Special Events include: Blessings for Brighton (August) Best Night Ever Gala (Nov) Big Give (March) Taste of the Northside (April)

Introducing Brighton to people you know is a great way to spread awareness about who Brighton is and how we help kids. Brighton asks that you host 2 tours at Brighton with members of your network as well as host 1 event in your home or at a venue of your choice for a group of your network to learn more about the agency.

Up to 200 players can participate in this shotgun tournament that features fun giveaways, raffle prizes, top shelf tastings and exciting games throughout the course, and a program/luncheon culminating the event inclusive of a live auction.

BIG GIVE
THURSDAY, MARCH 26, 2020 Every year, San Antonio has an annual day of giving called The Big Give. This event is an opportuity for non-profits throughout Bexar County and other nearby counties to reach out to individuals to try and secure donations of $10 increments or more. The Non-Profit Council and their partners offer incentives for those agencies participating in EMPLOYEE the Big Give that win in various categories. Brighton's Board Members REWARD are critical in making this day a success for the agency by reaching out to their family, friends, and co-workers and asking them to support Brighton on this day and leverage that donation to help the organization win prize money. Brighton consistently is ranked in the Top 10 for Big Give Participants and annually raises $55k or more through individual donations and prize money in only 24 hours!.
TASTE OF THE NORTHSIDE WEDNESDAY, APRIL 22, 2020
Brighton's TASTE of the Northside is perhaps the special event that the organization is most well known for throughout San Antonio. This official Fiesta Event is the largest on the Northside with more than 6,500 guests in attendance, 60+ participating restaurants, large variety of food and wine options and 7 live bands. Our Board Members can support TASTE by becoming an event partner, buying General Admission Tickets, VIP Tickets and/or Volunteering.
