ARRESTS, BRIBIE ISLAND A 41-year-old Burpengary man has been arrested in relation to a string of alleged offences that occurred at Bribie Island between October 19 and 21. Entry was forced to a Benabrow Avenue, Bongaree office where cash was stolen. The offence occurred between 5pm on October 19 and 12.10am on October 20. The Burpengary man has also been charged with offences relating to the theft of number plates from cars at Goodwin Drive, Bongaree, and Morayfield. At about 6pm on October 22, police located the man in Bulloo Street, Caboolture after they intercepted the vehicle he was driving. It is further alleged that the offender fled and was apprehended by police a short distance away. He has been charged with two burglary offences, six unlawful entries to a premises, three stealing offences, one unlawful use of a motor vehicle offence, assault police, possession of property suspected to be stolen and breaches of bail. He was remanded in custody to appear in the caboolture Magistrates Court on Nov 1.

The side door of a Shearwater Crescent, Banksia Beach address was entered without damage being caused between 12.45pm and 13.20pm on October 20. Jewellery was targeted but left behind when the alleged offender was disturbed.

At 5.16am on October 21 another office was broken into at Benabow Avenue, Bellara. A side glass door was jemmied. The alleged offender left empty handed after a quick search was made before leaving after the alarm was activated.

On the same morning, an office on Eucalypt Street, Bellara was entered by forcing the front door. A search was conducted and food, microphones, camera equipment and alcohol were stolen.

A vehicle was stolen from a Benabrow Avenue, Bellara address between 8.15am and 1.15pm on October 21. The alleged offender has entered the workplace of the owner and stolen her handbag, using the keys inside to then steal her vehicle. The vehicle was located at 11.18am on October 23 at Warrigal Street, Bellara.

A handbag and vehicle were stolen from a Boronia Drive residence between 10pm on October 11 and 7.30am on October 12.

Police would like to advise that the witness has come forward. Thank you to the Bribie Island community for their assistance. Police have made two more arrests in relation to this assault. A 15-year-old boy from Sandstone Point was charged with assault occasionally bodily harm. He was also charged with unrelated offences of unlawful use of a motor vehicle, stealing, attempted unlawful entry, trespass, driving whilst unlicenced and driving an unregistered motor vehicle. A 14-year-old boy from Bellara has also been charged with assault occasioning bodily harm. He has been charged with unrelated offences of unlawful use of a motor vehicle, two offences of attempted unlawful use of a motor vehicle, unlawful entry to a motor vehicle and unlawful entry. Both will appear in the Caboolture Children’s court at a later date. The 15-year-old Bribie Island boy charged on October 25 has been remanded in custody to reappear in the Caboolture Children’s court in November. At around midnight on Thursday, October 21, an unidentified vehicle was captured on CCTV on Dolphin Drive between Welsby Parade and Bestman Avenue. The vehicle drove between a group of youths fighting in the street. A 57-year-old woman and a 59-year-old man confronted the fighting boys, where it is alleged, they were then assaulted. Four boys were seen running from the scene. Police are seeking to identify the driver of the vehicle who passed through the group as a possible witness. Any information this driver has may be of assistance to the investigation. A 14-year-old boy from Banksia Beach has been dealt with under provisions of the Youth Justice Act. Late this afternoon (October 25), Bribie Island police have further charged a 15-year-old boy from Bribie Island with assault occasionally bodily harm. He has also been charged with unlawful use of a motor vehicle, two stealing offences, four counts of attempted entry to premises and attempted unlawful use of a motor vehicle in relation to a separate incident. He remains in custody to appear in the Caboolture Childrens court at a later date. Investigations are continuing to locate the two remaining boys.
