The bunkers on 7W have undergone a rapid transformation. The images above show the sophisticated edging and contouring, which are more in keeping with Ross designs. Bunkers will also function much better thanks to a state-of-the-art drainage system and liners.

As the bunker work progresses, great care is taken to shape and contour the surrounding terrain. The images above show the process nearly completed, with sod and sand being applied. Eventually, these generous surrounds will offer a variety of greenside chipping options that are characteristic of Ross layouts. Gofers will be able to flop, bump and run, or even putt from many of these newly transformed spaces.

Buck Hill Golf Club Restoration Progress Report No. 2 October 3, 2019 Note the image on the left showing the newly expanded 6W green as seen from an aerial perspective. This green suffered greatly from encroachment over the years and has now been expanded to its fullest potential. Golfers will notice an immediate change for the better. One of the most vital components of the restoration is the addition of “green tees” to numerous holes on the course – thereby allowing greater playability for junior and senior golfers. The aerial image on the left shows the construction of a forward green tee in progress. Green tees also speed play.
