What is the history of your home? 1220 Buckskin Ct was built in 1998-99. It features a log shell built by Thomas Wood Handcrafted Log Homes and custom kitchen cabinets made by Steamboat Woodworks. I purchased the home in 2012 and have remodeled the first floor bathroom, laundry room, bedroom and various other upgrades.
What do you love about it? I love being up on Buckskin with such amazing views, awesome neighbors, and a refuge that feels away from it all but convenient to town. It?s an enclave where everyone looks out for each other.
Why did you buy it? This area of town, above the college, is an excellent neighborhood convenient to town, schools, the college, and the library. Buckskin Ct has a perfect orientation for ski area views, Emerald Mountain, and even Buff Pass and Strawberry Park.
What quirks? The main living area is on the top floor, but once up there and drenched in the views; it?s worth the climb!
What is the most beautiful thing about your home? Beautiful log work that takes advantage of character logs, Brazilian Cherry hardwood floors, and the custom cabinetry in the kitchen. Also, the non-fruiting crabapple trees put on quite a show in the spring! And the views out over the valley.
What little details do you treasure? The claw foot tub is my favorite. It?s a treat to soak in, and I wish I could take it with me!. Also special, The custom log work and the beautiful Gerber Berend Design Build remodeled first-floor bathroom. There are so many custom touches that it?s hard to pick just one.
What room is your favorite? Summer afternoons on the deck with friends are the best!
